I'm guessing this was in the >>earlier Writings and Drawings too. So, who is this Narette? None of us quite know how seriously to take Susan Ross, the woman who is claiming to be Bob Dylan's long-time lover, and is writing a book about Bob (whatever happened to that?) But in one of the many articles that appeared in 1998, she mentions that Dylan has a youngest child (age 12), named "Narette". If the child was around 12 in 1998, it makes sense that it would have been born around 1985 -- the year "Lyrics" was published. So it makes sense. To answer your question, Narette is in all likelyhood, Bob Dylan's youngest child. Glenn C. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~coopergw

"Narette" appears in the "Special Thanks" in the Knocked Out Loaded(1986) liner notes as "Narette & Reggae Queen". There is no dedication to her in Writings and Drawings (1972) which contains a dedication poem mentioning Cathy, Miriam & Naomi who edited the work along with Woody, Robert Johnson, the "Great wondrous melodious spirit" and "to Sara who made it all complete." ...of course it could be the name of sleigh Bob played with in the Minnesota snows.
