Candid photos of folks like Joan Baez, Tracy Chapman, and Shawn Colvin
will be on display next month at Club Passim as part of an exhibit
marking the club's 40 years in Harvard Square. Along with the photos
will be mementos, including a note from Baez to her former roommate,
the club's current executive director, Betsy Siggins Schmidt. Also in
the exhibit is a document described in publicity material as an
''unpublished song'' by Bob Dylan. Schmidt explains the typewritten
lines are actually ''stream of consciousness'' thoughts Dylan banged
out at her place late one night in the early 1960s. They begin:

''well it early. /
it's early an it's squirly. /
an it's perly.
girly an it's swirly/
an it's surely.
surly early in the morn/
mama''

''You can see why it wasn't published,'' said exhibit curator Susan Wilson.
