(well, i did have a hard time on "highway 61 revisited," but i already knew the lyrics for that one.) what stuart's set-list doesn't show was that there were two encores - so we got more than just the regular number of songs. go figure as to why this may have been. i'm not complaining. as to the "post-set posing" that has been talked about on here recently, my friend had on her nifty watch, so we actually timed how long they stood up on stage in their neat little row. following the end of the first (main) set, they stood for 30 seconds. following the first encore, they stood for 40 seconds. and following the final, one-song encore, they stood for 45 seconds. Larry Campbell (my brother in last-name only) was the first to "break formation" each time. i was way too far away to notice anything about their expressions while they were "posing," though i could see that bob was shuffling about while the others were just standing still. we couldn't have asked for a better night. alpine valley has beautiful scenery (way better than "the new world music theater" near chicago). the sound was better than "the world," too. though i wouldn't expect too many tapers to have gotten through. security seemed pretty thorough -- i witnessed one security person go through a woman's entire purse, holding up the line for at least 4 or 5 minutes. (i think the security guards missed most of the marijuana, though. lots of people were partaking of that smokey treat. please note, though... I abstained.) forgive me, I'm rambling... oh yeah... alpine valley is beautiful. not many tapers got through (however, i'm sure someone will prove me wrong). the weather was butt-perfect. full moon, mid-70's. very little wind. chose not to stay for mr. phil. went home instead. thank you mr. dylan!!!!!! jimbabwe campbellangro ps -- they are selling some pretty nifty dylan t-shirts that i haven't seen on his previous tours. they look good. check them out.
