Hi,

It seems that "our" Bob will be in Barcelona's fantastic Opera House El Liceu on march 2018, exact date will be announced in next weeks.

A dream for all of us, spanish bobcats.

I guess Lisbon will be the starting of the tour.

Then I expect a few Spanish dates:
- Madrid ?
- Sevilla ?
- Bilbao ?
- Valencia ?
- Barcelona

Good find!
Date not mentioned in the article, but their only free dates around the end of that month are 20, 23, 29, 30, 31.

Wonder if he'll do more than one night?

Lisboa (beautiful/stunning city, beyond the best expectations) will be great. If so I'll be there too.

A MUST city in Europe

With the release of the Lisboa date and tickets on sale tomorrow one would guess that the Lisboa show will be the only show in Portugal. Now, can we please have the entire tour schedule? Come on!

I know 1999 was ages ago, but then a two dates in Portugal were followed by o less than 11 in Spain, one in France and then it was on to Switzerland. It will be less shows overall this time around, with more off days, but 5-6 in Spain, then Marseilles, Zürich and on to Italy seems totally doable. After that it's anyone's guess. In 1999, he did lots of shows in Austria and one in Slovenia and Southern Germany each. Short tour, just over three weeks. Maybe this one could be similiar?

It is, but I'm disappointed with the choice of "Altice Arena".
The accoustics there are not the best.

Agreed. It’s also not the kind of venue you’d want for an all-seated show.

I have no idea how much Bob will change the show next year, but the show as I last saw it was always a bit lost in that type of venue.

Given what’s already been made public (size of venue, ticket prices, tour poster), it’s almost certain that there won’t be any other show in Portugal. Unless they add a show somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, Lisbon might actually be the start of the tour.

Here's the disposition of the venue for Bob's show:
http://www.everythingisnew.pt/2016/wp-c ... lisboa.jpg

I think they'll put chairs where usually is the standing audience (that is through "Plateia VIP" to "Plateia C") and then in "Balcão" is the usual balcons of the arena which are not that great, in my opinion, because you're very far away from the stage.

I'm really, really sorry for the choice of this Arena because it won't create the intimate ambiance that I used to feel in Bob's show. In my opinion, only people with VIP tickets (that means €120 and €240) will appreciate a good show. But, I understand the reason for this choice - it's the only way to have tickets at "reasonable" prices. If they choose "Coliseu dos Recreios" also in Lisbon, tickets would become highly expensive (because Coliseu only have capacity for 2846 people against the 20000 of Altice Arena).

Here's a picture of Altice Arena:
http://smoothfm.iol.pt/upload/M/meo-arena-2-lg.jpg

Now, about other show in Portugal. I don't think it's going to happen because it wouldn't make sense to announce a show in Lisbon and not announce the other ones in the same day. It's a shame because in Oporto (Portugal's second biggest city) there's "Casa da Música" which have great accoustics but only over 1000 seats which creates the same problem of the prices of tickets.

I've never been to Lisbon so was half thinking of it, looked for flights etc but I am not inspired to travel all that way if the venue and sound are a bit iffy. Just for the record is the venue fairly central?

I really don't see the bard playing in Seville during the holly week, although I would love to. Let's hope we will get a nice Spanish tour

It is in Lisbon but not in the center of the city - it's in Parque das Nações.

Since Lisbon is a small city, I'd say you can go from center (Baixa-Chiado) to Altice Arena in a 15 minutes uber ride.

You can also go by metro but it probably takes 40 minutes or so.

My problem with the venue it's not mostly with the sound (which is not the best for me) but with the disposition of the seats. I'm affaid that only VIP tickets will have a great show. But that depends on how the promotor and the venue will do it.

I think you would enjoy Lisbon overall and it's a great opportunity to see Bob but keep it mind that you would have a more intimate experience in a theater or opera house.

For me it's strange that tickets go on sale tomorrow, but not from bobdylan.com. Same happened for the shows in Italy. I bough
tickets on row 4 and 5 in Rome, for "normal" price, before tickets was on sale from bobdylan.com

I don’t purchase tix on-line.
The “convenience” charges turned me away long ago.
Not from a financial point-of-view, but just can’t stand the whole bait & switch routine.
Just bake the whole price in, up-front please.

Plus, I usually don’t know where I will be until the date is on top of me.

Someone please wake up Bill.
He’s usually way ahead of those guys!

Dylan Inc. left this statement up on their site under Tours.
So they may be napping a bit too?

Mavis Staples will perform at all shows other than in Valley Center and Las Vegas.

Seems left over from the Fall, but...what if?
Wonder if Europe gets Mavis too?
Maybe check her site.

Edit: just checked. She’s just got a bunch of small US gigs till March 3rd...hmmm.
Although, it seems maybe they’d announce it if she was backing Bobby in Euroville.

It's listed but when you click the date it comes up with 'No Event Found' - you'd have thought there was something to say that tickets go on sale at a certain time and other info?

I think it's just a typo, should read: Bochum

But the same geographical issue applies
