Ernie, is it?
Is she still a 'songwriter'? "Six weeks", she says, really?

No matter how one tries to couch it, it's one woman's story about sleeping up, betraying her fiancee(called Ernie is this book) and those who had become friendly to her, and who was devastated when the less than six week relationship didn't lead to lifelong commitment. It's her story and Bob does not come off any better than your average p-hound, saying in parting "I sometimes do bad things."

Too close to the flame. Ouch!

They call him Ernie in the book?

Oh yeah, and the song is horrible in my opinion. Lyrics are in the book

Well huh, Bob's been able to take his pick among willing females for over 55 years now. Not saying that's a good thing, but it's true... still is.

He does look like an Ernie.
What she expect? For Dylan to marry her, he was married at the time. She did know Carol was his wife.

Carole Childs was the one who screamed at Bob over the phone and he then sent Britta packing.

I've finished the book. I've read maybe thirty books on Bob. I was sceptical going into it but I have to say, this is a window into Bob's road life you haven't read anywhere else, and if you revere him at all you're in for quite a shock. What I'm really trying to say: this book does more in some ways than the five best biographies put together. Bob comes across as a crass materialist: clothing, boots, booze, grass, babes, power and control. I almost want to shake it off. But good for you, Britta, trying to come to terms with it all.

You didn't know Bob was a materialist? It's become more and more obvious in recent years, all this selling of signed photocopies of his paintings and signed sucked on harmonicas and commercials and shit.

Its the rock and roll lifestyle. Nothing quite out of the ordinary, specially when its written by a spurned groupie.
Musicians usually are not, in fact, very spiritual-in theory yes in practice no.

Ps lol, I forgot about Carole Childs, I meant Carol.

Jazz lifestyle as well. After reading quite a few music bios, the exceptions were usually travelling with a minder who perhaps also helped them let off steam. Dishing some dirt seems like an apt groupie perk.

Except the case with Zevon's wife. She loved him, despite him knocking her around once in a while. And I love that man, but jeez. We shouldn't sweep it under the rug, but maybe I shouldn't read so many of them.

Looks like a good book if what you want is a kiss'ntell peek into a small era of Bob's private life - but not sure how much i want that.

Are there any photos in this book? I'm trying to decide between the print version and the Kindle ebook. The ebooks often omit photos.

There are a few but they are in a dedicated photos section and there are more photos of Britta than Dylan.

I'll scan some if there's anything unseen, besides what's on the cover already. My copy arrives tomorrow. I can't see Bob as a materialist but I guess it could explain the box truck in Woodstock and the convertible suspended from the ceiling in his Malibu home.

Haven't read through it yet but I found this in the pictures section, the words to You Can Blow my mind if you want to. Not sure if these were out there. I'll post more later.

It would make a great song for The Cheeky Girls to cover.

Touch my bum. Blow my mind. This is life. Cheeky cheeky!
