The Spanish shows have been planned for a while, I doubt they forgot to tell that to the festival promoter. I think it's very much more likely the hint at exclusivity was allowed/tolerated to gain profit. Cap Roig will be a very small venue, not sure for Bilbao, but the festival will be the financially most rewarding gig in Spain.

I'm very sure it said "UK exclusive" next to Bob's name at Hop Farm when his appearance was announced, however it doesn't say that now. Are there any proper rumors out there?

Well, both Feis in 2011 and Hop Farm in 2010 were exclusives. Also, with Hammersmith ticket sales being so slow, I'd be surprised if they tried the same stragegy (annoucing more UK dates later) again, unless it'd be something very small like Kentish Town Forum or super-prestigous like RAH.

But I don't really expect London to be added. With the odd exception of Berlin, the schedule so far screams: "See you in the real cities in 2013". And Berlin was probably only added because ticket sales were very strong there in 2011 and they couldn't add a 2nd date then.

Sounds about right.

What I don't understand is how Benicassim and Hop Farm are the same festival? Other than the promoter, what do they share?

I fully expect a spring tour with the new album.

Yeah, me too, but Japan or a secondary markets US tour would also be a possibility.

Sure, but I hope he'll tour the new album in the US this fall in some big cities, together with MK and MK's new album. Then get over here, to the big cities, with the new album, without MK (or any support).

I think he will, but he has often followed a major city US tour with one hitting the smaller markets. Guess it depends on how epic the Fall tour will be.

And I was thinking of Japan, because the 2010 tour seemed to have been a success for all concerned and travelling is minimal once you get there, especially if you do it 1978/2010 style.

But yeah, a spring tour of Europe sounds likely, but we're getting ahead of ourselves of course.

So you hope he'll play less songs in the U.S. and more for you in Europe. Gimme a break. Enough with the U.S. vs. Europe competitive nonsense.

Sphere, I didn't say I hope for anything beyond a European spring tour. There are very strong rumors / suggestions that Bob will tour in the US with MK this fall. This is not something I just invented. Releasing the album in time for that tour is part of that line of thought, too, though as far as I know no release date has been scheduled. So if the album is out at that time, he's likely to play the songs no matter what kind of tour it is.

Unless he shelves the album completely, it will be out in time for the Fall tour. Fall is the favorite release season for bigger artists and all Dylan albums of new, self-penned material since "Oh Mercy" have been released in September. The only exception is "TTL", but the Christmas album was released that Fall instead.

I know all about that. Why wouldn't I?? What I said has nothing to do with a new album or playing those songs live.

It's not complicated. You have a very strong "Bob in Europe" bias.

So does Bob, it seems.

And since co-headling tours are more frequently taking place on US soil, it is a fact that shows in Europe tend to have more songs.
So as a European, why shouldn't one have a bit of a European bias?

Well, Mr Sphere goes all over the place to see Bob, so I find it a bit hard to believe he comes along to attack me for liking it that Bob comes over to my home continent on a yearly basis....

Note that Calella and Calella de Palafrugell are not the same place. Not too far apart, but Calella de Palafrugell is the one where the concert will be held (Cap Roig).

So, let's wait for the press conference on Friday....
