Sorry to hear - Always love his Dylan writing - one of the very best. Word was a few years ago he was working on a book, anyone know about that?

Sad news, indeed. I've seen him at shows over the years.
Even talked to him once at a show at the Stabler Arena.
Always enjoyed his reviews of the shows.

A True Gentleman!

The Dylan community owes much to his high standards when reviewing the Bard
but most of all he is our friend. Praying for you Peter!

I remembered when I first started really going to shows up and down the east coast...there would be certain people you just kept seeing and they stuck out...without knowing names...they were characters. They were extensions of Dylan songs.

There would be this PSB fella writing these thoughtful, nail-on-the-head reviews of some of the shows I was seeing or missing. When I finally put them together...I said by Golly, I must meet this man. I'm glad I did. Peter, I'm sorry I cannot make the show. I hope to see you soon at another.

Thinkin' of you

Very sorry to hear this news. Our drummer is battling cancer as well. It really takes a toll.

I've never met Peter in person, but he has always been extremely generous with me, helping out on chasing down this or that person, and giving interviews with his unique voice.

If you haven't encountered his reviews of albums or concerts, do yourself a favor. His mind is like a steel trap, recalling vivid details from decades ago. Those details, to me, always enhanced his writing. Seems to me he's got his finger on the pulse of whatever is worthy artistically and he can pick up on that and explain it to both musicians and non-musicians. (That's not an easy trick.) His encyclopedic knowledge is always on display, but never showy or boastful. He's really one of the most insightful and sensible writers on Dylan there is. But if you look at his written body of work you'll see--though he is obviously a stone cold Dylan appreciator--he's far from a one-trick pony. One thing that I recall happens when I've read his pieces over the years is that I always learn something. And get something worthy to reflect on, too.

Haven't heard any rumors of Peter Stone Brown working on a book, but the life he's lived a memoir would make perfect sense. I'd stand in line.
