This will be the (only) thread in which to discuss getting the new release. Price, distribution and all other practicalities may be discussed here.

There will be one small break from tradition however - any posts boasting about stealing the material will be removed without notice.

I will ignore ALL prices I see, until it is officially announced. What worries me more is a post in another thread, that says this is a "Strictly limited Edition" See page 5 of the discussion thread by Nosferatu

^I may be wrong, but I thought I remembered them saying “limited release” or something for Trouble No More and Cutting Edge, both of which I got after the release date fairly easily.

What am I missing? This isn't that expensive is it? $160? Wasn't Trouble No More $400?

Trouble No More is going on Amazon for $120, which is only slightly lower than what I paid for it months ago. Don’t recall it ever being that high ($400 for THAT release is kooky-talk!).

So it is only $160 for BS14? That seems fair to me... Only $60 on itunes minus booklet... I know I paid more than $250 for Trouble No More on bd.com/sandbag when it came out.

I just checked my old Amazon order, I paid $127.81 total for Trouble No More when it came out and I'm going to get charged $159.16 total for More Blood, More Tracks. Trouble No More had 8 discs and a DVD. As far as we know right now, More Blood, More Tracks only has 6 discs and no DVD.

Amazon UK is currently quoting £251. Not as a Japanese import, either.

I paid over £800 in total for the collectors edition of BS12 so i doubt it will be more than that.

Content-wise though, I’m sure they’re banking on the hope that the average music fan who isn’t a Dylan fanatic will have a higher chance of picking up a Blood on the Tracks themed box-set than a gospel period one, so maybe the price is a little higher to cash in on those additional sales.

I paid 210 (including shipping) for BS13, and I assume a lot of us did. Compared to that $160 is not a big deal. (Though I have no idea whether $160 is the actual price on the day).

BTW is it not being sold from bobdylan.com this time? Or are they slow to update the site?

Amazon currently has the digital mp3 version at $49.99 and the one-disc version at $9.99 ($10 for a completely alternate Blood On The Tracks!)

Thinking that they had probably only low costs for "More Blood, More Tracks" and comparing it to "Live 1962-1966 - Rare Performances From The Copyright Collections" (8,99 Euro for two cds - without books of course), the price is extremely high.
But of course you can put lipsticks on the pig (found this nice translation for the German "schönreden" in the internet, don't know, if native speakers use this phrase).

The book is pretty incidental in my opinion. You flip through it once when opening the book and that's it. (What they should do is just get Clinton Heylin to release his book as part of the deluxe box- though I dont wanna start a Heylin quarrel here).

Maybe it's because I feared the price would be $400 that I'm not annoyed at the price tag, but it seems fine to me. Whether or not there was more or less work involved seems non-relevant. It's the fact thatt it is something, mainly, unheard and historically important that sets the price. It should be cheaper than BS13 since we get no dvd, that's for sure, but they can charge whatever they want. And they know it.

Fortunately that is the Japanese Import. It details it a little further down the page :)

Ah. Thanks. Phew.

The mp3 versions on Amazon and iTunes are listed at $49.99, so I doubt the markup for the physical copy would be nearly five times that amount. I'm guessing somewhere in the low-mid 100's (hopefully). Unless there's a bonus that hasn't been revealed yet!
