There is a movie coming out in september called "Life itself". I just watched the trailer and spotted (or imagined) some Bob references. So I read a bit more about the movie and found some soundtrack information: "the film liberally uses the music of Bob Dylan, specifically from his album Time Out Of Mind" (https://deadline.com/2017/12/dan-fogelm ... 202219683/)

And there is also a song listed on imdb "written" by Bob Dylan and performed by Yvette Nacer called "Gran Oscurecer" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5989218/soundtrack).

Good catch! Can any Spanish speakers tell us if it's possible that's a translation for a Spanish version of a Bob song? I know oscuro is some form of dark. Maybe Not Dark Yet? I hope it's a new song!

EDIT: On Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer's IMDB profile, she's credited as "Life Itself (lyrics: "Gran Oscurecer" - as Yvette Nacer) / (performer: "Gran Oscurecer" - as Yvette Nacer)" with no mention of Dylan. Weird!

My Spanish is a little sloppy, but I think it translates to either "very dark" or "great dark". It may just be Not Dark Yet, possibly a Spanish cover version but who knows?

Yes, probably a free version of Not Dark Yet. I don't know. "El Gran Oscurecer" can be translated (thinking about Not Dark Yet) as "the last nightfall".

A little update on this topic. Here is a list of the (TOOM) songs used in the movie: https://www.soundtrackmania.net/life-it ... songs.html

The quoted song by Yvette Nacer is indeed a cover of NDY.

I just watched this film last night. I had not remembered seeing this thread, so I had no idea that TOOM was going to be so central to the movie. The first "chapter" of the movie is really worth watching for a Dylan fan. Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde are great, and the Dylan discussion is fun.

While TOOM continues to feature throughout the movie (especially Make You Feel My Love), I found myself feeling that the film lost a little bit of steam as it worked through the additional "chapters." But it was still a good watch, and it was fun to hear the Dylan songs show up, sometimes the official recordings, sometimes non-English covers, and sometimes just the melody being played around with in the background....grave

More litterally I would say "The big nightfall".
