Neither are a viable option. When you compare vomit to vomit, you get (surprise) vomit!

Why all these polls of albums compared to Under the Red Sky??
Nice title, great cover, sub-par record.

Interesting question, DR. Thank God you made this poll!

If you'll just let me indulge, I'll describe to you the inner workings of my soul as I seek the aletheia within me (the cat in the well, so to speak) that will provide the answer to your inquiry.

I guess it truly depends on the "enchanted evening" that we speak of. Are we yearning for our companion to be doing a little "wiggle wiggle" action on her hands and knees, and perhaps a little bit to the rear, until it comes? Or are we seeking the dark pleasure that arises of a romance based on unrequited love and psychological manipulation? Therein lies the rub, for whether it's the burning passion of a lust like a red sunset sky, or the dark brooding of a love like a shadow in the midnight hours, we will seek to either wiggle our snake or wither like an autumn leaf.

Bob Dylan's Under The Red Sky was made specially for his grand daughter, who was 4 years old at the time.

Shadows is far better conceived, executed, recorded, all around the clear choice.

I give points because UTRS is an album of originals, but Shadows still wins because of the recordings, performances and sustained mood. It succeeds as an album, and completely, while Red Sky does not.

No contest.

Original Lullabies, sometimes with spunk.

Or cover lullabies that require copious amounts
of No-Doze to fight off the sandman.

Shadows in the Night by some margin. A far more satisfying record which Dylan appears far more invested in over Under the Red Sky.
