I started listening to Dylan at 14, and I started smoking pot at 15. My friends and I would get stoned in my room, cranking up the Dylan vinyl. We used to joke that Bob Dylan knew we were stoned and he was goofing on us. After they would leave I'd lay on the bed, drowsy from all the joints we smoked and I'd nod off to Dylan. At the time I was convinced that Dylan was pot music. There's an underlying connection that should be explored by people less stoned than me.

I am completely sober and have never touched a joint.
No wonder my family and friends look at me so weirdly when I say I love Bob Dylan.

You're exactly right. The late great Hunter Thompson(famous writer) lived in the mountains of Colorado and used to blast really loud Dylan music into the Rocky Mountains all the time. He was a heavy druggie and the term "gonzo journalism" was coined after him.

Not for me, but if it works for you, brilliant.

I prefer a few glasses of Chilean Merlot, drink 3 bottles and even 'Knocked Out Loaded' sounds less awful.

I am a malt whisky man myself, but even after a £50 bottle of my favourite malt, Knocked out Loaded is still C**P...Lol

I like to pair my Dylan listening with whatever drug he was on when he was singing.

Heroin and amphetamines are an exquisite way to listen to music. You should try it sometime!

Sounds like they'd cancel each other out then. End up middle of the road!

Speaking of early NET magic, after two bottles of Ripple, those 1991 shows sound especially shitty.

This is a thread I'll sit on the sidelines and watch. I call it "March of the Ignoramus's".
I'll appoint "F*ckin hippies" Wormington Grand Marshall. For these are the folks who have not done their homework, and life has passed them by. Stuck in an ancient mindset, or as Bob Dylan said so well - "bent out of shape by societies pliers", they actually think pot is a bad thing, and I guess are oblivious to the fact that pot fueled the whole Bob Dylan poetic revolution. Even more amazing, most of these lost souls drink alcohol, a drug that is actually deadly, addictive, and a 1000 times more dangerous than pot, and they probably think "they don't do drugs!". Amazing, but true!

So, march on blind ones...............
