I dreamed I saw St Agur

Prayed for some feta with my knees in the cement
Had my last bite of brie before I hit the pavement

Nosed around for some light snacks to go with my predicament
You know what some bright hacks say about bewilderment

Cheese from the Jordan, hard like the rock of Gibraltar
See the yearning of the able, curtain rising on a new table
St Agur still waiting at the altar

Try to get the purest cheese, they call it arrested development
Try to catch the latest breeze, they say you're out of entitlement

Got your cheddar this morning, that nearly meant the end of me
And the gruyere you gave to me surely proved you resented me

Don't know what I can say about Olivet, wouldn't come back to taunt me
Had to give her up about the time she started to flaunt it

But God knows best which cheese should be tolerated
I'd stand for gorgon if I could only make her ameliorated

Put your cheese in my mouth, babe
Tell me, what's your temperature?
Why not go right down to it?
Do we need all this furniture?

There's a space between you and your squeeze and you gotta erase it
Tonight you got the flavours to win her
Tomorrow you won't be able to chase it

Cheese fingers on fire, brains out of order
They're eating buns with Philadelphia, there's riots on the border

What can I say about St Agur, haven't seen her since last year
She could be delectably expatriated
In God's truth, that's what I fear

St. Agur went sailin' around the world on a dirty gruyère, hoping to someday be back in the land of mozzarella.

Hmm, I think there's a seed to a sequel lurking in there, somewhere.

(Mickvet posted today about a 'brain out of order' which provided the spark to this one.)

There must be some whey gouda here.

There's only one road and it leads to Balvenie
It gets discouraging at times
But I know I'll make it
By that pile of St Agur in front of me
