With Bob and the band performing Learning To Fly recently, I was wondering which songs by Tom Petty I could imagine Bob singing as well. Learning To Fly was such an odd choice for Bob, I think. And I had a hard time thinking of additional songs that I could imagine Bob do, but here's my list. What is yours?

- Louisiana Rain
- Wildflowers (Bob plonking away at the piano)
- Square One

He could do Tweeter and the Monkey Man, since they both worked on it. Maybe even get his band to sing the chorus with him

Once Bob said to Tom that Something Big was one of the best songs he ever wrote. And I'm agree.

In any case, I think Tom's songs are Tom songs, but these songs are not for Dylan. They are different guys, different songwriting.

Name that tune. 8)

I think Dylan and the band could do a good version of I Won't Back Down.

Check out No Reason To Cry from Mojo. Heavy shades of Dylan. Even has the words "blow in the wind". Beautiful song and Dylan could probably nail it. I'd love to hear it.

*Mary Jane's Last Dance* sounds, to my ears, the most Dylan-like song of Petty's repertoire.

For the personal touch, any of the tracks that the two specifically
worked together on in the Wilbury's, or ''Got My Mind Made Up'',
Petty wrote the music and Bob put the lyrics to it.
Criminally underplayed song i think, instead of trying to play
Union Sundown (and totally forgetting the lyrics nearly every time)
in 1992, ''Got My Mind Made Up'' would have been a better upbeat
lighter track in the set-lists instead of a song that he didn't remember
anything but the chorus of.

I'd love to hear him singing You Don't Know How It Feels.
