Expecting Rain

An unconventional suggestion:

"I've only got one good shirt left and it smells of stale perfume"

If you parse this little line out there's an entire story within it. A man in tough times only has one shirt worth wearing left, but he may as well have none because he just can't bring himself to wash it because the smell that clings to it is all that he has left to remind him of the girl who who is now gone.
