Good point on "Ballad in Plain D", though I think that song has been unfairly vilified over the years for its immaturity.

Yeah - Its an easy target because Bob has dissed it himself. A lot more people would defend it if he hadn't.

I kinda feel the same way, Path. There's so much out there from the Blood & Thunder years already, it seems.

They've had to shift the timing of the Blood Box for more than a few reasons:
copyrights, documentary & book match-ups, even a made-up-band match up!

Also, it feels like the delay of the companion Blood film may have pushed things out a bit,
back when they originally wanted to release it.
Hoping for some surprises regardless.

Dylan, Inc. is really doing Yeoman's Work with these Bootleg Series releases lately.

I feel the exact opposite. I'm glad they're done with this gospel release.
Now we can move on to some really great stuff!

I’m feeling a bit of both.
Trying not to have too much expectation, but fighting it.

I would love a release focusing on the "infamous trilogy" EB, KOL, DITG, with demos, outtakes, stripped-down versions and alt-takes. This would really make my day.
If it's gonna be once again on the RTR, it's gotta be really spectacular, given volume 5 already covered some of it albeit not quite completely, as in the early bootleg series fashion.

Here's the relevant quotes from Hoffman side:

Quote:
RayS says:
If there really is going to be a film "revisiting" Rolling Thunder, a box similar in structure to BS13 seems likely for BS14 (to me, anyway). 2 discs of live highlights, 2 discs of "rare and unreleased" with an emphasis on the studio, a "complete" (as in Bob complete) '75 RTR show, a complete '76 RTR show, and a DVD of the new film (which will cannibalize "Renaldo & Clara" and the "Hard Rain" specials).

Quote:
Masswriter says:
The new Scorsese film on the Rolling Thunder Tour is now in private screenings with a release date slated for next spring. There is no public source for this, but I have a friend that knows (specifically a friend of poet Anne Waldman, who helped with wardrobe on the R.T. Tour and whom had some involvement with the new film).

Well, guessing that friend is now exposed & up for divesture of future involvement.

I'm the opposite, let's push this gospel phase behind us and get to the good stuff!

Maybe instead of a "Bootleg Series" release, it will be like The 1966 Live Recordings?

Not sure this has been mentioned as a “rumor” but definitely on several “wish lists.”

Oh man ... A "complete" set of '75/'76 shows? That would be in-cred-i-ble!
Don't get my hopes up!

BS 14 will most certainly cover 74/75/76 accompanied by a RTR documentary. I think the configuration for the deluxe version of BS13 has set the stage for this next BS release (live + rare and unreleased + a couple full concerts).

I'm looking forward to the BS covering the NET and Bob's mid-late 80's material that is unknown to us. Maybe that period doesn't house as much as say 65/66, but there's probably enough stuff there for a decently sized release.

havent seen a post specifically dedicated to this.

What do you think it will be ?

What do you want it to be?

Will it be released around the same time Vol.13 Was?

I personally would love to hear all the takes from BOTT & Desire released, really hope they don't they do a trouble no more thing and mix up both studio and live together but if they were to keep them completely separated.

i wanna hear every take of If You See Her, Say Hello

Thoughts?

There's a topic around here somewhere, wasn't that long ago.

It's been pretty much confirmed by Dylan representatives that it'll be a Blood on the Tracks/Desire/Rolling Thunder Revue release.

Similar in structure to Trouble No More I'm sure, DVD and all.

I would guess it'll be released in the second half of next year.
