Looks like the same format as the last few Bootleg Series, I'm looking forward to it!

I've just had a listen to the original Blood on the Tracks, and, in anticipation of the new BS release, I was struck by the 50/50 selection of tracks from NY & Minneapolis and how perfectly it works. How well he was counselled by his brother on that Christmas, '73. One of his best. Looking forward to what Sony have to offer.

That was Christmas ‘74 wasn’t it?
I stand corrected. Thank you gerardv

I'm confused by some of the speculation regarding the Minneapolis sessions. Dylan only recorded five songs in the two days there, and only did one take per song? So there are no outtakes from these sessions?

Bob recorded multiple takes in Minneapolis.

But the tapes have been lost entirely. They do not exist.

So, there is nothing to release.

They are releasing everything that exists now, not everything that existed ever.

The only thing that exists from Minneapolis now, are the takes that are on the BOTT album.

Thanks for clearing that up, kuddukan. What a pity.

It’s on iTunes, with one track to download. If You See Her Say Hello (take 1 edit)

How do you know that? It's not beacuse they can't find the reels or tapes that they no longer exist.

Bob, Inc doesn’t know where they are and state they may have been erased. They do not state that someone has them.

To Sony Music they don’t exist.

Someone sent me the details of the various tracks complete with info on the studios, backing musicians where used, etc. The only thing missing was the track timings. So for Buckets of Rain does anyonw know if all the included takes (12) are complete? Would there be a version of Tangled Up In Blue that contains extra verses or instrumentation? Just interested!

The complete track list with runtimes is posted in the other thread (I think the mods are trying to transition away from this thread since we know when it’ll be released).

^Thanks for the clarification. Interestingly, in the first link you provide there's extensive reference to Andy Gill and Kevin Odegard's great book A Simple Twist of Fate: The Making of Blood on the Tracks. It is said there, "The book has, since its publication in 2004, held up factually, and nothing has been challenged or singled out as inaccurate." The caption below the first photograph reproduced in the book reads "Bob Dylan live, on tour with The Band, January 4, 1974, nearly a year before the recording of Blood on the Tracks but the same week the album's cover photo was taken in Toronto by Ron Coro. Photo by Jeff Klein." It would seem that is slightly inaccurate.

The "live" comment is inaccurate: the photo was taken post-show after his first of two nights at Maple Leaf Gardens when Bob and crew visited a club on Yonge St called "The Nickleodeon". Hawkins may have been playing, I can't recall.

A trawl through the Toronto Star archives will bear this out. I remember this very clearly when it happened.
