Yes excellent find! More of the "chronic poser". He looks depressed in most of them.

And there is a very interesting tidbit in there! There are two pictures of him standing behind an iron gate that eerily resembles some of the gates the has on display right now in London. Foreshadowing?

Oh goodness... I knew only one from this "session" previously. I'm really just glad and grateful he recovered.

Thanks for posting.

I got sent this link by a non-ER friend this morning but have just visited the "main page" to check before forwarding to Karl Erik, but, of course, our redoubtable webmaster already had it there. I should have checked before posting here.

These are a great find. Thanks for posting them here since I sometimes forget to check the front page.

It looks like it was intended as a warped parody of a fashion shoot. The dungarees and the knotted blouse are hilarious. And of course the fact that Dylan looks like he's about to vomit in most of the pictures.

In all honesty I don't think I've ever seen an uglier collection of Dylan photos. Makes me want to flee to the sanctuary of the Kramer book.

I agree. Not flattering at all.

The gate might be a work of his. Looks like it anyway.

Yes, but seems honest and therefor authentic.

Did Ginsberg publish the pictures at the time, or have they just recently been released?

I like the photos for this very reason. I also don't find them particularly unflattering except for one or two. He doesn't look terribly pleased to be having his photo taken, but then he usually doesn't.

I believe all the photos were part of the Allen Ginsberg Archives that he bequeathed to a Univeristy in Canada.

I actually like the way he looks in these pictures. He looks a lot older there. He looks younger than that now.

White Overalls, white socks, and loafers: my dream attire.

Yes, kind of makes you think that was the point they were making. I think B.H. Smith summed it up quite nicely.

If you're a follower of the Beat writers who emerged in the 1950s (as Dylan himself was) these photos are a find. The pictures of Cassidy, Kerouac and Burroughs that I viewed online are really intimate and revealing, never seen them before, they all look like the very enigmatic and original artists that they were.

Unfortunately Bob looks like a bit of a knob in comparison :)

Here's the one I recalled seeing before, including some background info.

Like I said, not very pleasing, but it's still very nice to see this side of him

Well, it wasn't exactly the greatest period of his life--personally, career-wise.

gotta love the pic 'Bob Dylan Tompkins Square Park sitting on bench 4'

is he deliberately cross-eyed?

seriously, this guy is short listed for a nobel prize? he looks like he's on a day trip from a nuthouse:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomasfish ... 809511244/

odd quality to the photo. with his beat up face and weathered hands... reminds me of an old depression era photo.

i put money on him tying one on hard the night before.
