They're both great, but at this point, Call Letter Blues would just sound wrong on the LP.

That's probably the way I feel about it, I expect "Meet Me In The Morning" to follow-up "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" so much, that I just can't hardly see it any other way. Even when I make my own personal mix and mash CD's of Dylan's work, I put those songs back to back.

I just noticed I really think of Blood on the Tracks as side 1 and side 2, because of how wrong it felt to read that You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go is followed by Meet Me in the Morning. It must be one of a handful of records I just played so much on lp (still do) that it's impossible to think of the songs as "one" tracklist.

I voted for Call Letter Blues. While I certainly could convince myself that Meet Me in the Morning is the better of the two, I wouldn't need convincing that Call Letter Blues is the better of the two.

I think there is, perhaps a couple more, but I do not think they were professionally recorded. Only the words exist.

Wait for the Bootleg Series box dedicated to this period.
Hoping for a surprise or two we don’t yet know about.
Probably just wishful thinking...

I think so too. His little red leather bound notebook included words to an additional song or two IIRC. He was known to go around and perform the songs for friends, so it could also exist that way too. I never ever expected his rehearsals with the plugz to enter circulation, or the GE audition tape. So ya never know.

I knew something seemed wrong when I first read that!

At one time I would have picked Call Letter Blues simply because of the intensity, something to which I've always responded in Dylan's music, but over time I've come to appreciate the artfulness of Meet Me in the Morning and find it provides deeper resonances, though in truth they've merged into one long song for me. A song which has one the nicer band grooves in Dylan's deep catalog.

When I read the part about the little red book full of BOTT outtakes and rewrites in "Why Bob Dylan Matters" my mouth was already watering!

Get Bootleg Series 1-3
Or
Maybe can purchase singly on iTunes?

I think that’s the only version.

^If you haven't heard BS1-3 yet it'd be extremely worth it to just buy it already. A must-have.

Yes.
It set the bar way high coming out of the Bootleg Series starting gates.
Worth every penny.
