Hi, can anyone confirm that Bob Dylan actually said the below quote?

“Get outside. Get out into the world, man! You wanna read poetry, look at the stars.
Light a candle and write under the new moon.
That’s when The Operator comes to whisper the Secret Words to you.”

I have found a few websites attributing it to him but without listing sources. Some of the info on these sites is inaccurate so I'm hoping someone will know if the above quote is legitimate.

Thanks,
Howard

On what websites did you see this? I've never heard that one before.

Doesn't really sound like Bob Dylan to me. "The operator"...no, I don't think so.
But then again...he said so many things in the last couple of decades, so who knows?

I first saw the quote in a printed list of quotations from various authors, musicians, and scientists.

The Bob Dylan quote was not familiar so I began to wonder when he might have said it. It is pretty clear from the structure that it was spoken rather than written.

Looking online, I found this web site that has the quote but again with no documented source.

Next I found it attributed to him on a humor web site along with several obviously terrible fake quotes that made me very suspicious.

It could be something he said at some point in his life. So many interviews during different periods.

That author of the first site and the unknown compiler of the original list seem to think it is authentic which is the reason I ask. Without a source, I'm skeptical.
