Many ppl had issues this tour seeing Bob behind his piano. Center front row seats were obstructed regardless of the stage height.

Please leave this woman alone. The stage setup has not changed significantly since 2012.

Funny front row center VIP last fall and summer, no problem seeing regardless of stage height. This fall was a major issue. Please mind your own business. I’ve been buying front row VIP tickets since they began and the piano has now blocked the front row center when standing (depending on stage height) or sitting (not depending on stage height). It’s pretty obvious you haven’t sat there, so don’t comment.

But, of course, it takes common sense to realize that an angled baby grand won’t cause as much of an obstruction as one facing the crowd head on.
He began his tour in San Diego with an angled baby grand. By the second night it was repositioned and blocked Front row center. I didn’t attend these two shows. A guy (of average height) attended and told me he had the same issue at most of the shows after San Diego. Again, I suppose you had to sit there to understand or have half a brain.

Last good seats I had was about 18th row in 2013, and I was pretty pissed that it was so dark I couldn't see anything. I can't imagine paying front row prices and having an obstructed view seat. Those are usually the cheapest in the house.

I sneaked a video of two different songs while he was at the piano. I wish I could post them here
In the center, you could only see him sing 4 Sinatra songs. They’re at most 3 minutes long. That’s 12 minutes of a 105 minute show. 11.4% of the show for $535. Robbery.

Also another big difference was the amount of songs and time he spent Center stage this fall. It was considerably less than the previous summer tour. Therefore more of an obstructed view

Again, doesn’t take a genius to figure it out, only common sense...which some obviously lack

Wow. Ppl need to complain. I had front row center this summer and no issue. Well I couldn’t see him sitting but that was only a couple of songs. Not 50% -88% of the show.

Can anyone say how for many songs he was seated at the piano for during each show of the most recent leg?

I’m guessing close to half bc that’s about all I saw of the Albany show. I know he sat for
summer days
Early Roman kings
Desolation row
Blowing in the wind
It ain’t me babe
Tangled up in blue
Soon after midnight
May be more as well

Desolation row is not a short song either.

No. Mad at a promoter for selling front row seats as premium and charging $525-$570 without checking sight lines. Obstructed view is required on a ticket. Usually they’re the cheaper seats and not the most expensive

Of course, as I mentioned previously, just takes a tad bit of common sense.

Love how everyone’s an expert on this issue when they haven’t sat in one of these seats. Clearly you wouldn’t be making such foolish comments had it been your seat and your money.

i support Amos, she is totally right on this matter.

she is well aware of Dylan's wiggy ways

and brooks him no quarter,

she is the refreshing stalwart bob veteran that can see his humanity yet still love his fine abilities

i wish she would find Rosen's address and dare him to reply to her honest questions about this matter.

i will report that the shrill screaming bob heckler outside the last beacon show did a mighty fine job of getting to bob's ears over this just as he entered his vehicle to leave

"i paid SERIOUS MONEY for this" etc etc....

and who knows how bob took it. i objected to the shrill accostive method because as Barefoot points out Gandhi reminded us violence only pays off so long.

and actually relatedly -- charging high prices to have people see you then refusing to be seen behind your instrument is passive aggressive or negligent or disrespectful at least.

this 'sorryicreatedcoolnosorryit'sashyaspergersdealbutheymilanometwosistersdon'tneednostinkinmanners' iconaltry is so over, Steve Jobs' genius is our burden now

but bob is the genius of geniuses and i am beginning to pray and give thanks for his generosity and depth everyday as i begin to understand

how it has helped my and others' soulmaking for years now and to come.

Amos is a gift to our community and i'll hold her high heels anytime.

Ha!!! I wish we’d cross paths again. Jeez, it’s been some time now.
What was the girl screaming over? I thought it was the songs. Was she pissed about the view?
I know of two folks that had obstructed views from 7th row at the Dylan shows and called this lady. They were refunded. One in full, and the other 50%

it is bullshit and i hope you get your refunds, but they aren't actually 'obstructed view' seats. That term refers to seats without full view of the stage itself, regardless of sight lines etc.

All that said, I was really bummed about the sight lines also from the 5th and 7th row center seats I had this tour. Especially as people now sit through the whole show.
I'm a tall person and too old to be a dick to the people behind me by standing even though everyone else is seated.

But I do love seeing Dylan in concert and I'll keep coming back and trying for the sweet spot where I can see him behind the piano as well as center stage. I like watching the band and all, but I'm paying to see Bob do his thing.

Well obstructed view means obstructed by something preventing you from seeing. Other artists have obstructed view seats that aren’t always labeled obstructed view for other shows bc of stage set up. Now don’t laugh, but I bought seats to see Cher. The section next to me was labeled obstructed view but for other shows like Elton john or billy Joel or Neil diamond they’re regular seats.

You aren’t the only one that had trouble seeing from 5th and 7th row. Someone I am friends with on Facebook gave me that contact because they were sitting in 7th row and couldn’t see bob at all either. They got refunded. Try calling.

From Ticketmaster

Quote:
What does obstructed view mean?
It means you’ll be unable to see the entire stage from those seats. You’ll have either an incomplete view because of the position of the seats, or something will be in your line of sight – like a pole, speakers, or the sound board.

We sell these seats because for many fans an obstructed view is not a problem, and the tickets are clearly labeled at time of purchase.

Like a damn piano blocking my sight of everything behind it including the performer

as you are entitled to feel otherwise,
but i don’t feel you are entitled to name-calling,
i think you owe lovethatcountrypie an apology

I also feel that people who are entitled to comment are the ones that sat in these seats. If you haven’t, you have no prior experience to make an educated comment. These types of people who comment trying to discredit what people have experienced are trolls and try to bait and flame arguments.

It’s obvious that pie didn’t sit in a front row center seat this tour. Why try to say I didn’t experience what I experienced? Clearly, that person is looking to offend, start an argument, troll, etc.

This person is claiming something I experienced is basically stupid and unfounded. How can he or she speak on my behalf? He or she had a grand ol’ time in the other thread about the beer (that was a parody of this one) and followed here to continue it.

Here’s the deserved apology
I’m sorry lovethatcountrypie is a moron.
