In the same boat. It's a great show, though - I'm glad for everyone going.

September of My Years was missing, no?

I'll try to post some of my inane thoughts in a bit but for now I'll just say that Bob is the hero of my heart.

“Soon” came back again and eclipsed a Standard slot.
So we have Scarlet & Soon again.
Which, although better than the Standards. We could still do better.
Not complaining though.

Nothing "again" about Scarlet, based on the recording of the 12th - it's been in the same blender as the rest and the new arrangement comes out hot and thick. Hope those in attendance had a great time and thanks again Bill Pagel!

Ace recording and sounds like a cracking performance. He would appear to be on fire as the cliche goes...

Loved the show... the best Dylan performance I have seen in the last 6 years.... Does anyone have a spare poster from the show they would be willing to sell? I was in line to purchase when it sold out. Not sure if this is the write thread to post such a request.... thanks!

People seem to like those posters more than these posters, at times.

just following up with what i promised

this california and standards season sure has proven this band is genius not only for their chemistry or their mastery but their vision

bob's methods are well known but what seems to not be grasped for is what they mean

this band always finds a way

On my way home to Sweden after a couple of shows in the us. Got front row center for this show (my last one for the tour), and it was great! Excellent performances all from Richmond to DC.
Thunder on the mountain! 8) 8)

Viktor- it was nice meeting you and your German friend. I was the guy behind you both in the GA line before the show. Was nice killing time by talking about the shows and hearing your stories of following the tour. Hope you enjoy the shows in Italy!

In regards to the show, it was the best I have seen of the band yet. I was also up front and I can't recommend enough how much of a difference it makes to view the show up close. Lots of energy and many moments of "Holy shit, that's REALLY him!". The venue was also incredible and from what I understand, just opened up 2 weeks ago. I was impressed by how pleasant the security was at the venue and just in general how nice the vibe was. I think only one person was kicked out for consistent photography, at least from what I saw. Bob was watching the entire thing go down as it happened too.

I was pleasantly surprised by his piano setup for the show which basically had him looking out into the crowd as opposed to just seeing his profile. There was a nice effect that it had on me since I was up front and for some of the songs, I was just able to see his face from the eyes up as he played piano. As a result, I just saw his eyes and that famous hair and I swear it looked like I was watching his younger self from the 60s. With just the eyes and hair, it really could have been Bob as a young man, if that makes sense. It was a bit eerie but super cool to be able to see that kind of illusion.

If you have a chance to see him on this tour, DO IT! So happy that I was able to be there for the show and experience another Dylan show. Incredible stuff.

So glad you made it down front, Jimijac! I was in the third floor balcony and while it's true there really isn't a bad seat in the house, I now wish I'd sucked it up and gone for GA down front, lol. From my vantage point it looked to me as if the person who was taken out was ill, because folks were directing security to where they were and the person was carried out, but maybe you're referring to a separate incident. I did notice Bob taking notice of things, though.

What you say about youthful Bob is so true. From our bird's eye view, his figure at the piano sans hat might as well have been young early '60s Bob. There was a real vitality there, God love the boy. Sometimes the lighting was such that, seen from above, the top of the piano held a near perfect reflection of his head with a glowing halo of hair. Wish I'd had the nerve to snap a pic.

I read the crappy review in the Washington Post and wasted my time being a Bob apologist in the comments after first posting that he didn't need any apologists. Ha, that's me all over.

All in all a magical night. I guess Mavis is just taking the stage in Boston now. They're in for a treat!!

Didn't want to say it because of how openly I hyped the Upper Darby recordings and would seem like a broken record, but after reading all the glowing reviews of those who were there I feel inclined to say what I thought when first hearing the recording of this show, and now confirmed on second listening — this is, to my ears, the best show of this tour leg, at least of what I've heard. Incredible finesse and energy, a great set list, and a clear, crisp recording.

Thanks Bob and boys! (and he who recorded the show)

I just heard about half of that show. Quite nice. The new arrangements are pretty cool, only the one for Honest with me I would say it doesn´t work.
Plus I don´t completely hate Bob´s singing.
The instrumental intro was beautiful

I loved Early Roman Kings - the way they played it a year ago... but to my ears there is a new arrangement that is even better. Pay in Blood was also great.
