Bob Dylan to play two shows in Salt Lake City

The Salt Lake Tribune

Mr. Tambourine Man is coming to Salt Lake City.
The legendary folk rocker Bob Dylan will perform two shows with his band at the downtown Eccles Theater on Oct. 17-18.

Rhythm and blues/gospel singer Mavis Staples will open both shows.

Dylan became known as the “voice of a generation” in the 1960s, with songs such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin’” becoming anthems for the civil-rights and anti-war movements, but his musical legacy has extended through the decades.

He has sold more than 100 million albums and is an 11-time Grammy winner, as well as a one-time Academy Award winner and Golden Globe winner. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was awarded a special citation by the Pulitzer Prize jury in 2008, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.

Beer, soda water and snacks can be purchased at one of the multiple concessions locations throughout the theater and enjoyed at your seat. Additional beverages may be enjoyed in the Encore Bistro. If you come hungry, the on-site Encore Bistro will be serving up a special show-themed dinner menu as well as grab-and-go meals.

bit of confusion re showtime:

The Eccles center website below lists doors opening at 6:30 pm and show time as 7:30 tonight for Bob Dylan.

Going to the box office, I observed Bob's bus, the last to arrive, back it's way carefully into position, safely behind the theater, at 3:43.

7:30 is correct. That was my fault.

Anyone wants to talk Bob I’m sitting in the “Beerhive” pub directly across the street from the venue nursing a beer and a Laphroaig until the doors open. This is show #50 for me over 39 years.

So last show had some minor tweaks compared to the night prior:
1. Swapped positions of Tryin’ & Tangled
2. Swapped positions of Autumn & Wasted

Getting settled in to yet another Set.

Hoping the original Tryin' makes a return.
