I was there- they come on at 8 exactly.

Just like the Roundhouse eight years ago these three shows were hyped up to be something special but just like eight years ago he does a standard set. I thought there may have been a couple of surprises at such an intimate set of gigs but it seems otherwise. I am still looking forward to tonight though and hope everyone enjoys a great show.

I think the template has been well and truly set by the last few years. Outside chance of To Ramona maybe and I Could Have Told You for Why Try To Change Me Now?

I was thinking Scarlet Town in place of Soon After Midnight?

This reviewer found plenty of "surprises" - he clearly hasn't been tracking the set lists of late...

I would vastly prefer Scarlet Town. It was one of my favourites from the current set.

Wonderful show, wonderful theatre. The Sinatra song refuseniks put me in mind of the Judas crowd of fifty plus years ago. Being there to see him perform Stormy Weather and That Old Black Magic was a new Bob delight. He powered through the night, bossing that mic stand and hammering those keys in that utterly certain, relentlessly haphazard way of his.

Way to completely undermine the significance of the crucial fulcrum point in Bob Dylan's career.

It amuses me, the way writers like Neil McCormack in his Telegraph review, above, labour the press man's tedious 'joke' that Dylan is, shock/ horror, idiosyncratic and doesn't do things by the supposed rules. Nothing changes in that regard, does it? My Judas analogy, re the negative reaction of certain 'purists' to Dylan's swing era renditions, which admittedly may, in career arc significance terms, be interpreted as comparing the fall of the Berlin Wall to the puncture of a bouncy castle, still holds.

"Best he's sounded in twenty years"

Not sure I agree...but it's just great to read that sort of mainstream reaction. For many of us, myself included, the repetitive setlists over the last few years have taken some of the joy out of seeing or hearing them. Clearly, this isn't so for more casual listeners, who can simply bask in the pleasures of an engaged performer singing songs like Desolation Row...

Having not seen Bob since 2009 (dreadful show at the NIA) last night was a huge improvement especially up to and including Lovesick. Last part of the set was less engaging (current BTW arrangement not for me) but a strong finish with Ballad. Definitely worth the trip, Bob seemed to be much more engaged than 8 years ago. Palladium much better venue than an Enormodome IMO

I'm more interested in the reactions of first-timers, non-Bob tragics. That often tells you more than you'll ever get out of hearing what Bob lifers have to offer.

Here's to everyone lucky enough to be there tonight. I hope it's a great show, and I also hope there's at least one surprise in the offing, either tonight or tomorrow night.
