Bob Dylan concerts in Rome
Rome, ITALY - Tickets are (still !?!) on sale for two Bob Dylan concerts at Rome's Atlantico on 6 and 7 November.

The veteran American singer songwriter has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades, ever since he burst onto the scene in the 1960s when his songs became anthems for US civil rights and anti-war movements.

Atlantico, Viale dell'Oceano Atlantico 271 D, tel. 065915727, http://www.atlanticoroma.it. (see below):

BOB DYLAN, on 6 and 7 November in Rome (Atlantico)
Rome, ITALY - Confirmed date "special" live in Italy in November. "Bob Dylan and his band", for the first time in the theater in Milan, Rome and Padova, will perform in the intimate venue, where the viewer can share with the artist a unique and unforgettable evening.

For tickets purchased online at Ticketone a novelty: "FanTicket" color cards with artwork of the tour, which remind the typical paper ticket of "once" to get a souvenir of the evening. From Saturday 15 June presales open at other authorized points of sale.

The previous five albums by Bob Dylan, including his latest "Tempest" were universally hailed as some of the best of his historic career, reaching new heights of commercial success and critical acclaim for the artist. "Time Out Of Mind" of 1997, Platinum, won several Grammy Awards, including Album Of The Year, while "Love and Theft" continued the streak of Platinum discs by Dylan and has earned several Grammy nominations and a statuette for Best Contemporary Folk album. "Modern Times", released in 2006, has become one of the most popular albums by the artist, selling over two million copies worldwide and allowing Dylan to win two more Grammys. "Together Through Life" was the first album by the artist to debut at number one in both the United States and United Kingdom as well as in five other countries, in its race to overtake the million copies sold.

These five releases took place during twelve years of creativity that they even included: recording of Oscar and Golden Globe "Things Have Changed", taken from the film "Wonder Boys" in 2001; a biography blockbuster, "Chronicles Vol. 1 ", remained for nineteen weeks on the bestseller list of the New York Times, in 2004; a documentary directed by Martin Scorsese, "No Direction Home", in 2005. Bob Dylan has also released, in 2009, his first collection of Christmas classics, "Christmas In The Heart", giving the album royalties to charities fighting hunger around the world. Last year, Bob Dylan was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian decoration of the United States. In 2008, he received a special Pulitzer Prize for his "profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power". He also obtained the French Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres in 1990, Sweden's Polar Music Award in 2000 and various doctorates including those of the University of St. Andrews and Princeton University, as well as numerous other honors.

I think Rome would be the perfect place to debut his 3 song solo performance promo for ASP during the intermission. Band takes a break, Bob leads of with When I Paint My Masterpiece.

perhaps then In the Garden followed by Ring them Bells.

If prayer would facilitate this event, I'm down.

I've been hoping for that song since the start of the tour (I picked it as my wildcard in the pool). Best wishes to all the lucky folks who get to see Bob tonight in Rome. :D

Number of Bob shows in Italy: 77, number of "Masterpiece" performances: 2, Bob shows in Rome: 12, "Masterpiece" performances: 1 (1991, a kinda drunk one). You do the maths.

Same goes for Belgium actually: !6 performances in total (13 of which in Brussels). Only one "Masterpiece" (2002, very good one, though!)
