The question of Dylans worst selling show has been discussed here recently. This leads me to think about his best selling show. Or in a broader context: What was the highest number of people that saw Bob Dylan perform live on stage?

According to wikipedia, IOW in 69 had an attendace of 150.000, Blackbushe in 1978 200.000.
What about his shows with petty or the The Grateful Dead in 86/87? Hyde Park in 96?

I would be glad to get some numbers from you.

Hyde Park '96 150,000

Summer Jam at Watkins Glen was a 1973 rock festival which once received the Guinness Book of World Records entry for "Largest audience at a pop festival." An estimated 600,000 rock fans came to the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway outside of Watkins Glen, New York on July 28, 1973, to see The Allman Brothers Band, The Band, and the Grateful Dead perform, but no Bob...

Isle of White was 150,000 and Blackbush was 200,000 and Concert for Bangladesh was only about 40,000 between the two concerts..... so I think that Woodstock 94 might have been it....

March on Washington was 250,000, but I think that was more of a Martin Luther King Jr show

What about 1997 before the Pope? Wasn't that a big outdoor event?

Apart from Blackbushe, did he headline any of the ones mentioned? Even Blackbushe was technically a festival, I guess.

Biggest Dylan "solo" headlining show might have been Nürnberg, Zeppelinfeld in 1978 actually (depending on which attendance figures you believe) or one of the Spanish '84 show, but only if they were sold out.

I consider him the headlining highlight of Woodstock '94.

Sorry maria, you are right. The Poster design confused me for years but on the ticket the show is billed as a Bob Dylan gig with special guests. That should settle it then. Definitely his biggest show as a headliner.

He was the main performer at the IOW at the end of a 3 day event. Way more than 150,000 at that gig. Several daily rags reported 250,000.

I'm usually up front and don't notice the crowd.
