The old handers on ER will know me; the newer ones probably won't since I don't post very often. When I do it's because I have some factual information rather than gossip. I have friendly contacts with Bob's UK Promoter/Agent and his European Agent and they basically tell me what information can be released and when.

As far as Hop Farm is concerned, Bob will not be there. In the words of someone from the Promoter's office - "I can categorically tell you that Dylan isn't playing Hop Farm - we would never play two years in a row as you know and also, I am sure there aren't many promoters in the world that can afford The Eagles, Dylan and Young on the same bill? Way too expensive!!!

Now's not the time for your tears because Bob will probably be in Europe around this time anyway, performing at festivals. Dates are waiting to be confirmed so there's nothing that can be said further other than it being a short spell from around 16th June to 1st July. Now you can start planning your holidays. One of the likely dates will be for a festival in the UK. It will not be Hop Farm but I do not yet know where or when, but can make an educated guess. Announcements about all these festivals should be made fairly soon.

Plans are still in the offing for a concert tour of Europe including the UK in the Autumn.

John

Not sure whether that's an educated guess, but the first festival I could think of in the two weeks mentioned is Glastonbury. June 22-26.

I had thought this too, but I rather hope it isn't the case as tickets are already sold out...

Will really ALL of the shows in summer be festival appearances or is there a chance for a couple of regular gigs also ?

I'd really love for him to come to Sweden this year, 2 years is too much for meee. (And I can't really travel either, I'm just 18 without any solid income)

You lucky, lucky man...

Although, read today that U2 is the headliner for Glastonbury, with Coldplay and Beyonce the headliners for the other days. Could he be a headliner for one of the other days?

Since festivals tend to run fromthursday oprfriday to sunday, it's very likely that any festival tour by anyone would include some regular shows as well monday to wednesday, possibly in a setting close to a festival (open air, tents, twon squares), but without the hassle of having to sit through ten acts.

That'd be lovely. Or the variant of one act a day festivals.... I like those.

This is just a wild guess, but some more major festivals during the time mentioned include Werchter/BE, Roskilde/DK and Montreux/CH. They are all on the last weekend mentioned, though.

Dylan could be in the sunday afternoon spot over the last few years Ray Davies, Neil Diamond, Shirley Bassey have filled the oldie show on sundays Johnny Cash did it a few years ago. It won't be a headline spot there are only three days and U2. Beyonce and Coldplay are the headliners

That'd be really, really bad if they added him now that the festival has sold out.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me either. Having sold all tickets already they just might be looking for some acts to complete the line-up. I'd say Bob is too expensive for that.
But who knows...

I believe the festival was sold out before a single act was announced. It's usually that way. So all those U2 fans feel your pain.

I'm not going to the UK for a festival, so that's not my pain.
