Charlie O. Finley, of "....Finley's farm" fame from the song "Catfish" (about Hall of Fame pitcher Jim "Catfish" Hunter), died yesterday. For those who are baseball-ignorant, Finley owned the Athletics franchise (KC and Oakland) for 2 decades and was instrumental in several innovations in baseball, chiefly the designated hitter and the playing of World Series games at night.
