Crowd seemed to be very pleased, cheering all thru the show...that goes to show why Bob keeps treating us italians with greatest hits. Actually, that's what most of the audience here seem to be expecting of him. The show started slow-paced...Bob looked somewhat distracted, he kept turning to the techs on the side for 10 mins or so. Times a-changing was awful...unpassionate, thrown in like a crowd pleaser (as it actually was), Bob forgetting the words to the second verse (as usual). Desolation row was wonderful. It got hotter and hotter as the verses went by..his phrasing here was fantastic. Maggie's farm was great too. Amazing harmonica solo in the end...a couple minutes long. Sudden band breaks during the harp solo, only David kept keeping the beat...wow, really rockin and everyone on stage seemed to be really into it, with Bob ruling the band and leading the song to its end...Just like a woman was just adequate. The crowd really began to cheer and Bob looked satisfied with that...not willing to bring the song up into some other, more interesting level. When i heard the first chords to 'If you see her say hello' i thought that finally my prayers for a non-greatest hits set had been (partly) fulfilled. Pity, that was the lowest performance of the night...Bob never finding the right way to deliver it properly...often mumblin along and 'following' the melody instead of ruling it. Forgettable. Second acoustic set starts with Don't think twice. Surprisingly, Bob play the intro chords all alone, leaving Larry a bit stunned..but it was great... for just a few lines, Bob singin and playing alone like he used to do many years ago...the song was good but not special, Bob didnt sound like putting the heart into it. But his voice was really good..all through the show. But a good voice is not enough, right? We want a bit of passion, committment, that phrasing that only Bob can deliver...at least a few times in a show...well, we had it all..MAsters of war was good, just good, Bob finally sounded as if he was caring about what he was singing...Stuck inside (i hate this song live...) was pretty good too...passion, energy...Was Bob really (and finally) letting himself go?? Well, he was...Positevely was jut terrific...the usual 'crescendo' in his phrasing...more intense and heartfelt as the song goes by...great performance. Wicked messenger and rainy day slipped away easily, the former being enjoyable for its hard rocking beat and a good harp solo. Things have changed was another highlight..the singing here was crispy but clear at the same time, it's hard to explain...but so so impressive...Rolling stone? did he play that one too?? naaaa...c'mon you must be kidding...Knockin and Realeased were both great. The band sounded fantastic (but how long since the last time they were played both at the same show?? think about it..)Bob was concentrated, leading the song with his voice like he only knows how.... I got out with mixed feelings...Bob's voice is good, his delivering is sometimes really mindblowing...but there are moments when he clearly sounds as he's not 'plugged in', and that's when you begin to feel bored...and other times when his voice just kills you and makes you wanna stay there forever, hoping it won't end. That's the way it is with Bob, i suppose. And then the setlist..well, it was really disappointing but as long as the crowd seemed to love it...well, i surrender and accept it...what else can i do? Of course, Bob is not playing for hard core fans like me and that's ok but Bob...please...no more one more time....
