EDLIS Lyrics has never and will never present itself as an alternative to
the various Bob Dylan sanctioned lyric books. Copying to evade purchase is
wrong. Period. Users of the EDLIS service generally wish to have lyrics on
computer for ease of searching and analysis and they will already have
purchased published versions of songs and music. The agency has no
hesitation in recommending to everyone the purchase of

the most complete compendium of Bob Dylan lyrics available in print. It is
regarded as essential if you have anything approaching even just a passing
interest in Bob Dylan's lyrics. Why would anyone posting to rec.music.dylan
not own a copy of this book?

If you are looking for the same text in electronic form you will find no better
source than the officially sanctioned "Highway 61 Interactive" CDROM (1995).
This is regarded as the successor to the above book (although the medium isn't
as widely accessible of course) because it includes post-1985 album releases.

If you're looking for lyrics to a small number of Dylan albums you may prefer
to buy one or more of the following songbooks instead:

If you would like a complete listing of lyric and lyric-related books you are
directed to the EDLIS Bibliographical Agency assistants, Ronald Lamars
 and Mel Johnson . Many
newbies ask how to access the various EDLIS agencies. The procedure is the same
for all. Simply post your request for information to rec.music.dylan or via
private e-mail and, allowing for vacations (aka "time off for good behaviour"),
you will receive an answer (in your mailbox or on rmd, as appropriate).
