Just writing to Expectingrain to tell you what I have lately discovered: a fiction book about Bob Dylan has finally been published! It's in German only, as for now, but it appears to be a spy story (it's the 6th in a series written by Liaty Pisani, an italian writer publishing in Germany, Switzerland and Austria): the main character is a certain Robert Hibbing (!!!) who is involved in an incredibly complex and rich adventure tale together with Ogden, the spy who is the serial character of this cycle of novels. Robert Hibbing holds a concert in Venice, in Piazza San Marco actually, but someone has blacklisted him and a great international power is threatening him... And the spy comes to his rescue. Other guest appearances include a certain Tom Beatty (Tom Petty of course) and the affectionate Spike (I'll let you the pleasure to discover who this one could be... His surname, by the way, happened to be Harrison). I have read the book and I think it's grand... The character of Robert Hibbing really his Bob Dylan at his best! the author certainly has a great love for the subject, and even knows him perfectly... Look at all the hidden messages and references to Dylan's work! I bet she often reads Expecting Rain!!! Someone should translate it in english as soon as possible... I think it's an engaging and well written work, it was time that someone wrote about our Bob in a fictional manner, too! Here's the link for the book (from the pages of the publishing house, Diogenes Verlag) and a brief synopsis of the story: http://www.diogenes.ch/4DACTION/web_glob_showhtml/path=leser/neu/index.html& ID=2267495 Thought it might be interesting for Expecting Rain's daily updates and for the many german fans visiting it... All the best and thanks again for your great site, Beni - An affectionate expecting rain reader -
