Does anyone know why Dylan doesn't come to Canada at all on his last few tours? He was in Kitchener ON for one date in 09, but none since then. Does anyone know what's up?

Good question. Two years straight without a single show in the whole country. Really just 1 show in 3 years. What's with that? Sure he covered coast to coast in 2008 but still.

They began the 2008 fall tour from Victoria BC.. Lucky me.. the next year, in the fall..they started from Seattle WA. ..again..lucky me.. but in 2010 i had to go to Yakima and Bumbershoot to catch them.. and again..lucky me.. but not so lucky this year..hes avoided this area. California was just too much of a stretch this time around. I hope for a canada tour soon.. im ready. :D 8)

I'd love to see him in places with names like Yakima and Bumbershoot.

And Ypsilanti. I should have gone to Ypsilanti. Just because I like saying it. And I like Bob.

I saw him in Toronto (my hometown) in 2006. I couldn't make the Kitchener show a few years back - but if he ever returns to Ontario I'll be there regardless of other commitments!

I don't mean to be rude, but Canada is really not a huge market base that anyone struggles to get into. And also he has to cross stupid border checkpoints to get there. I think increases in border security at the Canadian border has made him think ... what's the point? And I don't have any reason to believe he still does any kind of heavy drugs, but I guess that he likes an occasional joint or whatever after a show. So, he can't get caught bringing that over the border. Again, is the hassle worth it? No.

Last time I went into Canada they searched my whole car and also my laptop for child porn. It was downright ridiculous. I'll never go to Canada again after dealing with that. I'll just stay in the USA. He probably had a similar experience and said "x that ... it's not worth it."

A huge market base? This is Bob Dylan we're talking about - there's a market for him wherever he goes. It might be a little inconvenient crossing the border line - I seriously doubt pot access is a problem though - but he does a show in up-state New York just about every tour...we're only a couple hours away!

You don't mean to be rude, but you are. Did you not mean to be ignorant also?

He played Atlantic Canada in 1997 2002 and 2008 so I was not really expecting him this year or even last year. as far as Canada not being a huge market place. Moncton NB has one of the best and biggest concert sites in North America. It would be nice to see him added to the next magnetic hill music festival lineup

thank you Hal. :)
My contribution to this conversation is.. if he can go to little countries smaller than our Vancouver Island, what does this say about Market value? He doesnt gouge his fans like some musician/bands do. It is what it is. Its not about money. Maybe its not even about convenience...at his age.. he can do whatever the hell he wants.
As for them searching your car..dont take it personal. If you do, perhaps theres a reason for it.
We just miss ya Bob.. come on back soon!

Kitchener '09 (Nov 7) was the only Canadian date of the fall leg of the 2009 tour. The night before (Nov 6) he played in Detroit. Two nights later (Nov 9) he played in Philly. So, he crossed the impassable border twice in 3days. Oh my goodness, how did he ever survive such a grueling experience.

I live 3 hours from the Detroit/Windsor border and 1.5 hours from the Niagara area border crossings (3) and I've NEVER had any problem getting into the US or coming back to little ol' insignificant Kanadar.

It seems like Canada is due for some Bobbage in 2012 wouldn't you say?
Maybe like a little zig zag action along the US border? North Amercica is due for something.

Absolutely. It's gonna be a good year. Are you in Canada?

I enjoy going there. It seems like if he does N America later in year that there would be some Canadian dates.

I like the Canadian shows. They are very manageable and the people are usually quite the friendly crowd. Bring it on.
