Does anyone know if Charlie Sexton is still in the band? I did not see him on the Grammys.
I only got to see him once in Australia, it would be good if he still is ...thanks

Let the speculations begin! At the Grammys, Harvey Mandel took his place. Some advertisements for the Taiwanese (I think) show still list Charlie among the band members.

Charlie has commitments with other bands and may also work as a studio musician. It's possible that he was just busy wih prior engagments.

Its probably more that Charlie was busy and Bob didnt actually Need him for this performance.
But he sure does need him out on the road imo 8)

I hope Charlie is still there for the Australian tour. I like the energy he has given Bob and have been looking forward to not only the musical differences, but also the stage difference that he has brought.

I hope he is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away!

2010 was the most boring year since 1962.

Most boring band since ever!

Charlie does nothing except kneeling before Bob!

If he's in I think I will skip this year in Europe for the first time since 1978 :(

I agree he should remain on his feet. Not so sure it's worse with him than it was before. The band is what it is....

I don't mind the kneeling that much, he's getting down with his sound, constantly looking for the perfect tone, which shows he really cares about how he's playing. I would say the band is better with him, more interesting than before with Denny in my opinion.

Charlie, Bob's center stage singing, some new arrangements and the new lighting and visuals of Bob and the whole band on the backdrop on some songs has put new life into the NET and seperated 2010, from 07,08 and 09.

Now just let Charlie play acoustic guitar with Stu and we'll really be onto something 8)

The only two members of Bob's Band that I saw were Tony and his sidekick Donnie. I think they were just there to add to the madness of all those instruments ringing out. With everyone playing an acoustic instrument, why is tony on an electric bass guitar? Is this Bob's way of "electrifying" an otherwise folk rumble?

Remember that although Bob is the biggest star, the whole point of the song was to bring the 2 acoustic bands together and to celebrate their winning awards, not to see Bob and his band play, or so it seems. I was hoping Bob would have come out with just his Cowboy Band though and done a regular set number, like he did years ago with Things Have Changed.

I do love the newish Bob hand and foot vogueing. He's a real showman when center stage.

Stu was the big guy next to Tony and Harvey Mandel was the guy with the white hair on the other side of Tony.... he has posted on his web site that he "played the Grammy's with Bob Dylan".... there was a link off the front page...

Thanks Mate! I've seen some talent from your part of the world. Stevie Ray Vaughan in '85, Joe Ely(very good show) Fabulous Thunderbirds...probably more. We never got many acts in the past as we are so far away,(Perth) but Bob Dylan's been coming since the '60's.

jman and Lily Rose are both live in/near the "Live Music Capital of the World" It's also Bob Zimmerman's adopted 2nd home.

I wouldn't worry too much about Charlie not being on tour with Bob. Nothing's circulated to the contrary, really. I think he's in it for the long haul.

Wish I could go to some of the Aussie shows.

There are some rumours flying, but nothing in stone. It seems there have been some problems.... don't know if that means commitments or schedules or what, but it seems they are hoping to just keep the band just the way it is..... it seems that Bobkins wants Charlie right there holding down the middle......

...... and we ladies of course want that eye candy right there where we can see it....

..... come on Charlie..... I have even started to learn which guitar is which..... bet you can't change guitars three times in one song.... :P

Charlie could have joined on dobro and Donnie could have played mandolin but with the cacaphony of noise, I'm not sure it would have added much.

I hope Charlie is still in the band, he has only been to the UK once in the current band, and I missed Hop Farm. :(

Not sure why those who can overlook Bob's voice can so fixate on Charlie's posture.

I don't think Dylan would have hired the man if he couldn't commit long term (I.E., more than a year). He'll be there on April 17th.

2010 was great (my favorite year so far) and this band is good. they work well with bob.

and 1978 was okay, not worth a total skip.
