Just a bit of news for UKers - I slipped into my local Poundland this afternoon and came across a number of copies of Hollywood Foto-Rhetoric in absolutely pristine condition and competitively priced at merely £1.00 (like everything else in the shop - who'd have thought it, everything £1.00 in a shop called Poundland; truly, we live in an age of wonders).

Anyway, I thought I'd give other UK people with access to a Poundland the "heads up" so they might be able to acquire a Dylan themed bargin.

And for you Yanks, I got this for a similarly low price in the discount books section at Barnes & Nobles a few months back. I still see it on occasion.

It's been in Borders, too, in the remainder section. I haven't seen Borders or BN list the low-price copies on their websites, but there are lots of low-price copies offered here.

Bargain Bob thread, anyone?
I like this site, mostly okay prices and occasional used books or rarities:
http://www.mediumbooks.de

Bought HFR there, but not read it yet - so many books, so little time!

Awesome - I'll check it out. Gotta love Poundland. Where else can you buy 25 litres of three years out of date instant coffee from the Ukraine for a quid?

In Poole, Dorset there is a 69p-land.

Is there a better deal than 'ISIS' (£85) for the 'Box of Vision'?
Ditto for the Blu-ray version of 'Don't Look Back', Play.com has it listed at £17.99.

Hollywood Foto Rhetoric:

I bought this on Amazon.Uk for 00.01p plus postage at £2.80. The copy was in new condition. This was in the used and new category rather than direct from Amazon.

I bought Oliver Trager's excellent Keys to the Rain in a remainder bookstore in Lancaster recently for £4 and I've since seen it in a few bookshops in the North West of England. I much prefer it to the Clinton Heylin books and it does pretty much the same thing.

Good grief, I had no idea. Some people are selling it for £135. I guess I should see if I have any more copies.

My copy looks like a US import as well. To be honest, I'd never heard of it until I saw it in my local remainder bookshop! It is very good though, much better written than Heylin's book, but just as comprehensive and illuminating.
