Well now - that was very sweet! 8) I really enjoyed the first link - the concert with the whole crowd singing along!

In any language, is there a prettier song than "Forever Young"? Really - I can't think of one.

Thank you for posting! Now I wanna go and see a concert in Austria! :D

Once again: Listen to real music, real poetry ans real emotions - so close to Bob's original tunes.

There is another Austrian musician - yes Austria is a funny place - who covered a Dylan-Song: Falco. It's been one of his best performances. Listen!

Which Dylan song did Falco cover? Maybe I can find a version that isn't blocked for me.

Ah, it's Baby Blue. Found another version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Yu12l-jx6E

Not bad, but I have to admit that it's not really my cup of tea. Too theatrical for my taste.

The so called "Austropop" has been a very famous, successful and remarkable period of Austrians music history. Bob Dylans songs influenced most of the singer/songwriters in Austria. Strange, that there is so little interest about it in this forum.

Never having been to Austria makes it very difficult for me to guage the impact there of Bob.

I will leave that to the Austrians ''Down Under''.

I do like Paul Kelly and Olivia Newton-John and AC/DC - all great Austrian entertainers.

Kelly is obviously a Dylan discipal. I have a great album from the 1980s of his somewhere which i cant recall the name of but it has a blue cover.

Newton-John sang Banks of the Ohio as well as If Not for You _ great Bob songs.

But she left Bob for Hollywood and John Travolta and followed them up with Get Physical which Bob didnt write.

AC/DC is probably the most influenced by Bob of course.

Jeez, you're pushing pretty hard.

OK, here goes: I just can't very excited about Falco, he's not the type of singer I dig. I've had the LP with Ambros's Dylan covers for ages. It's really not bad, but I still prefer the original. And the STS Mr Tambourine Man cover is downright awful to my ears, sorry.

I very much like the way Knockin' On Heaven's Door is used in the "Wien Mitte" episode of "Kottan ermittelt", but I couldn't find it on YouTube. Perhaps you have more luck, I think some people here might enjoy it.

Thanks. Not to be picky, but I had found that one - they cut out the best part, unfortunately...

Do you really think it's fair to blame Dylan for THAT??!!

(It's weird with von Goisern, actually. He seems to be a very decent guy with good ideas, but I can't listen to his music. Physically unable to.)

You are right, Folk & Blues-Fan. I had started in Greenwich Village bound for western skys, in Minnesota I turned to "Highway 51" and then to Nashville. And going on and dreaming on suddenly I found myself in Goisern. Sorry!
