What's your opinion on what the best live performances of these songs are?

Many great performances of this song. One that stands out is Oberhausen, Germany, from 5-9-00, as mastered on Rattlesnake's "The Violence of a Summer's Night" bootleg (bonus track). I also like the "Don't Look Back" version from the Savoy Hotel, though the video and context add to that one.

While I've never heard a bad version during the NET, I don't think any NET version (that I've heard) rises to the beauty this song deserves. My favorite performances are from the Rolling Thunder Revue tour... and I am generally a person that prefers Dylan electric to Dylan acoustic... but this is a song that during RTR Dylan's vocal coupled with his acoustic guitar found a just and deserving treatment.

I can't really explain why it never lives up to its potential during the NET... everything else Dylan has done in the studio and previous live performances is blown away by the NET performances of whatever song is in question...except It's All Over Now, Baby Blue. As good as it is, and there are many very good performances, there's always an aching sense that it could or should be better. :?

Perhaps this is confirmation that he is human. Achilles had his heel... Dylan has Baby Blue.
