Does any body know how to get the rest of these?
I would like to get these back and catch up.
I emailed the Tom Petty Fanclub but got no responds so far, I would them
join if I could get all the shows to download.
Still a lot of thanks for what you posted.
I made me very happy,
Olf

Listened to a couple of these at work today and they were great. Excellent selections & sequencing. I'll gladly stack them up. Different sort of show to Bobs, both work just as well. Many, many thanks.

A bit of blurb:

Quote:
Tom Petty broadcasts each week from his Los Angeles home, bringing together a playlist of classic songs and obscure music from his collection.
The hour-long, critically-acclaimed weekly radio show will blend landmark songs, offbeat cuts and live in-concert classics recorded by legendary artists with Petty providing informed and passionate commentary on what is his first love, the music.
"I love doing the show because I can turn people, especially younger people, on to really great, timeless music," explained Petty. "I buy a lot of old albums, I love the older stuff and I think that's where my heart is. I go further and further back trying to find stuff I missed, or stuff I always wanted to hear but never really got the chance to. That's a big part of what 'Buried Treasure' is.
"Petty's free-form playlist for "Buried Treasure" includes cuts by artists from Jimi Hendrix to Carl Perkins, the White Stripes to Little Richard, Elmore James to the Beatles, Bob Dylan to Jerry Lee Lewis.

Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap is also a good listen.
And Billy Bragg has started a radio show on Q Radio.

Big thanks to ExLurker for this very generous post.

Cheers.

Amazing, ExLurker. I have been posting the Theme TIme Radio Hour for three years and I have probably received 200 emails asking about this show. I might have to find time to edit up a few of these files into tracks and post them at Croz.fm. Thanks!

So Petty's references to Rick's Recorders and broadcasting from near the railroad tracks near the airport are complete BS. Whodda thought it? (LOL) That's Petty's equivalent to Bob's Studio B of the historic "Abernathy Building" (built in 1848!!)

Thanks to exlurker for posting these. I've recorded a bunch of the shows but still had a lot of gaps to fill in.

If anyone tracks down the missing shows, that would be great. I may already have one or two of them, but I don't know the setlists. If anyone has the setlists for the missing shows, that would be great also -- I would just need the 1st 1 or 2 songs.. I've searched for the season 1 and 2 setlists but can't find them anywhere.

The missing shows start with these songs:

14 S1 W14 03/21/05 The Rolling Stones/Down Home Girl
19 S1 W19 04/25/05 Fleetwood Mac/Tell Me All the Things You Do
21 S2 W01 12/21/05 Detroit Junior/Christmas Day
33 S2 W13 04/03/06 Little Richard/Hey Hey Hey Hey

Show #46 (Season 3 week 1) also starts with Little Richard’s Hey Hey Hey Hey but after that they’re different. I think the second song for show #33 is a Dave Clark 5 song, but I’m not positive.

I have the links for the season 1 & 2 playlists but they’re dead now…

Here’s two more from Season 4…

I have the Season 1, shows 14 and 19, and they are pretty clean. I've never posted on rapidshare, but I imagine it's pretty easy. I'll try to post them there and then post back here when they are ready. That would complete Season 1, but it would sure be nice if someone had a cleaner copy of Show 12.

I don't have either of the 2 missing from season 2.

I missed show 26 of the current season 4 on Thurs. Was that his last show of this season? I'll find out on one of the encores, but just curious.

Episode 26 is available here for the week, then the uploader is going to post requested shows from this season that members may have missed:
http://www.mudcrutch.com/forum/ You have to sign up to access the "Best of Everything" forum.

After that, she is going to go back to Season 1, Episode 1 and re-up the previous seasons one episode at at a time. All the tracks on these downloads are broken down and tagged, which is really nice!

Yes, #26 was the last show, but Tom promises a season 5!

Here’s show #26, the last one for the current season (as previously stated), and you don’t even have to sign up for anything! During the show Mr. Petty calls it show #98 but it’s only #97…

97. http://rapidshare.com/files/231921611/9 ... _2009_.mp3

His websites back in sync (http://tompetty.com/index2.php?module=n ... tem_id=756) except they used #96 for the last two shows...

Thanks riverclown, now there’s only two missing!

Are we sure there were only 20 shows in Season 1? At the end of Show 20, Tom says "see you next week". If there was a 21st show, that would make Petty's assertion of 98 shows correct.

I started recording the shows at the beginning of season 3. Between seasons 3 & 4, repeats were randomly run of shows from the first 3 seasons with up to 4 separate shows played each week; I used the repeats to fill in seasons 1 & 2. At the time, there was a web-site that listed the setlists from seasons 1 & 2 along with their original air dates, but it did not separate the shows by season (the link is now dead). I used this site to figure out which show was being played so that I could tag/name it correctly. Also, while recording the repeats, no show was played that wasn’t in the web-sites setlists or from season 3.

I also used playlists from the Mudcrutch Farm web-site. Here are a few examples from season 3+, which all match my numbering:

Show #58: http://www.mudcrutch.com/forum/showthre ... d+treasure
Show #60: http://www.mudcrutch.com/forum/showthre ... d+treasure
Show #71: http://www.mudcrutch.com/forum/showthre ... d+treasure
Show #73: http://www.mudcrutch.com/forum/showthre ... d+treasure

In conclusion, while he does say “see you next week” at the end of show #20, I can find no evidence of another show between #20, which aired in May, and what should be show #21, a Christmas show that aired 7 months later to, presumably, open season 2.

Thanks for all the diligence. You are probably right.

I bet when he said "see you next week" he was referring reuns. He's been hyping reruns this year and thinks they are a real big deal.

I found an improved version of Season 1, Show 12, which had a lot of dropouts. Someone at Mudcrutch Farm posted the show, but with each song tracked separately. I went ahead and combined them into a continuous track and and also reduced the volume a bit, to make consistent with the other files here. There are a few spots where the transition from track to track is noticeable (related in some way to how they were originally separated -- this is as good as they can be put back together), but all in all it sounds good.

http://rapidshare.com/files/249343177/S1_Ep._12.mp3

That gives us all of season 1 in very good quality. Now, if someone would post Shows 1 and 13 from Season 2, that would be great! (the only remaining missing shows)

Hello, everyone. I'm still mostly just a lurker, but I love reading the posts here. I missed the missing episodes riverclown posted...episodes 14 and 19 from Season 1. If anyone has these and could upload them or wants to send them privately, I'd be quite grateful. Thanks in advance!

Many people dont realize that Tom Petty has a wooden leg and wears an eye patch in real life.
