I think I read somewhere that they still speak every now and then. Which might mean everything from every few months to every couple of years.

Actually, the book is pretty good. But toward the end it starts meandering a bit. All in all it's entertaining. It's not really about Bob and Suze. It's really about her life with and without him. She's got a pretty interesting story without Bob. For starters she grew up in aCommunist family in NYC during the fifties and sixties. It's a quick read. I'd suggest it.

I disagree I did not find anything about the book that would make me want to by it again and weeks after its release it was still in the first edition........what does that tell ya

Well, it's a quick read. I think her childhood was pretty interesting. It's true that at certain points it wanders off topic. But over all I enjoyed it. If it was 500 pages I may think differently. But I read it in less than a week's time.

I think it took me just one sitting to read it nothing I did not already know about in fact I think she could have gone a little bit deeper into what it was really like

The parts that I found most interesting were about her family and their politics. It was kind of surprised that she grew up in a Cmmunist family. Frankly, the parts about Dylan were pretty unimportant to the book.

It's a good thing that the "Dylan" parts were not the most interesting. I got the book, on your recommendation, about an hour and a half ago. I just finished it...and I agree...a worthwhile read. As far as being from a commy family, she should feel right at home, here.

Exactly! I guess, before reading it, I always just thought of Suze Rotolo as Bobs girlfriend during his legendary early New York days. That's all people knew of her. Yet, she's somewhat famous. And I'm sure that must have been frustrating to her. So, writing this was probably cathartic. Her story is compelling enough on its own to have kept me interested. Like I said, I think the end could have been more coherent. But it was just a short book that was entertaining.

I read the book and found it interesting and yes, it is on my Bob Dylan bookshelf. If you only buy it for the Bob content, you may find that your expectations will not be totally fulfilled, but if you enjoy reading biographies in general and more specially those of people related to Bob in some way, you're likely to find it interesting. This is coming from a person who also read and enjoyed Joan Baez's two autobiographies, books by and about Woody Guthrie, plus Positively 4th Street, a book that is as much concerned with the lives and times of Joan Baez, Mimi Baez Farina and Richard Farina.
