Expecting Rain

It's time for a new forum. No, I don't mean scrapping Expecting Rain. What's needed is a new section called: Other Performers. The first new area can be Jackob Dylan. Neil Young can have his own area too.

The Bob Dylan topic are filling with too many topic about his son. It makes for confusion and slow navigation. Let's give Jakob and others their due with their own section: Board Index >> Other Performers >> Jakob Dylan

Actually, when I was pm'ing with Long Johnny about coming back to ER, he suggested two things - a political section (which we now have) and another section for "Other music". I ran it past karlerik and he thought it was a good idea. I suggested calling the political section "Political world", but couldn't come up with a snappy name for "Other music". I was hoping for a Dylan related lyric or song title.

Can anyone come up with a good suggestion? We can get a new section going but we need a name better than "Other music" (if we can find one).

Music in the cafes is the only thing coming to mind but I think that was used at the pool or something.

maybe a area specific for all other performers, but not a dedicated area for individual performers. that would be overkill for all but maybe a handful.

I think there should be an entire forum dedicated to Jakob! That way the people who love him won't be have to harassed by haters like moi. (sorry, peeps)

OR, if you want to stress honesty, make it

This sounds like a good idea. I like both of Carl's suggestions. All a-holes should be kept out of these threads, though.

but another approach would be create a forum under the General category for discussion of "current and former 'The Next Bob Dylans' "

Hmmm there's a plan. The 'Bob Dylan' section looks strangely small after Newslinks went awol.

I think it should be in Off Topic with a thread for each artist...Neil Young, Bruce, Jakob, Tom Waits, Backstreet Boys, whatever. It would be easier to keep up with posts about your favorite artists and HOPEFULLY bypass threads about artists you don't care for.

I like the idea of a "Take It Outside" thread. I get so pissed when threads are derailed by fighting amongst posters. Mods should just be able to move them to the boxing ring and voyeurs can follow if they're so inclined.

We can still get the section going. I guess we'll call it "Other music". It will be good - it will be a place for threads about Jakob Dylan, Mavis Staples, Joan Baez, and other non-bobs who make music and deserve better than the play house we call Off Topic. No more gray area with NDC (no dylan content) music threads in the GD section.

Okay, do it! I want to post about other performers, but I'm trying to wait until I'm in a safe zone.

18 votes doesn't really suggest anybody is overly interested. None of the superbrains have come up with anything. As the new forum relates to other artistes couldn't the proposed names be from any song by any artist rather than sticking to Dylan?
