although i dont think he's in it just for the money... he's a creative person. he needs to create... and he likes performing as well.

I'd say that the oh mercy chapter of chronicles shows that bob does care about his audience. Not that he loves us necessarily, but that he cares about having one and being able to perform in front of one.

After meeting him a few months ago and having my own opportunity to judge this for myself, I would say he DEFINATELY cares about his fans, and also about how he sounds in concert. During our chat, he asked me twice about how the URI Concert (11/17/04) sounded and how the songs came across; he really wanted to know. Please think about it like this: A musician on tour lives in a "bubble", only surrounded by those on the "inside", and when they get a chance to speak with someone outside the bubble, its real and genuine feedback for them; and especially when they encounter a true genuine fan whom they can get knowledgable answers from, then its easy to judge how much they care - BOB CARES!

I went to see bob in Newcastle june 2004 and on the encore he played If not for you and before he began the song he said "this ones for you" again this suggests he does care. Love and caring being two totaly different things.
