Loved the guys in the Dead? He sure took some free kicks at their music in his autobiography.

I can't wait to hear his take on "Black Muddy River" as well.
His world weary voice would fit the song well.

I just listened... nothing special. His voice sounds youthful. Seems like he sounded older when he was young.

Listening now (thanks for the link, goodmeats). God, what a song for a last album - and Gregg sings it, knowing that. Sadness and beauty. I'll definitely be getting this album.
