BC Bob Dylan cancels Victoria show over scheduling conflicts -
Vancouver is now last stop on Summer Tour



Legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan’s Never Ending Tour is well underway, but he won’t be performing in Victoria as planned.

The Blowin’ in the Wind singer was scheduled to wrap up his tour in the capital city on July 27 at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia. The promoter of the show Live Nation released a statement saying Dylan’s performance has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.

Tickets that were purchased online or over the phone will be refunded automatically.
Anyone who purchased tickets in person can return them for a refund at the point of purchase.

Bob Dylan will be making a number of stops in B.C., including Kelowna and Vancouver. Vancouver now becomes the last stop on his Summer Tour

'I don't want to criticize anyone for their beliefs, but it was totally inappropriate', said Klein. 'He kept yelling horrible things. Well, Ali got in the limo, and it started to pull away, but then it stopped and backed up. Ali got out of the limo, and he walked up to the man — he was a smaller man — and did something I'll never forget. He picked him up, kissed him on both cheeks, and put him back down. Then he got back in the limo and he was gone'."

"When Elvis Presley purchased Graceland on March 25, 1957, the music gates were not a part of the property and he wasted no time turning it into his own castle. In fact, the gates were installed less than a month later, on April 22.

The gates were designed for Elvis by Abe Saucer and custom built by John Dillars, Jr., of Memphis Doors, Inc., these custom music gates were delivered and installed at Graceland on April 22, 1957.

This was before Elvis or his parents moved into Graceland. The house was being renovated before Vernon and Gladys Presley spent their first night there on May 16, 1957. Elvis, who was filming 'Jailhouse Rock' at the time, didn't spend his first night at Graceland until June 26, 1957, but he visited while the work was in progress."

I nodded off and haven't been paying attention.

Usually we have a couple of shows annouced for the next leg already before one leg ends or at least solid rumours. So for now, this kind of is the end of the NET as we know it

This set has grown on me with each listen,
Hope it's a dynamite closer and a good time for all involved!

It was the Dead’s first appearance outside the U.S., and they were totally unknown — their debut album wouldn’t be released for another seven months. In fact, the Dead weren’t even advertised on the poster for the show.

The Dead were in town for the Trips Festival, a three-day event that also included future San Francisco legends Big Brother and the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) and local legend Al Neil."

Every time a Dylan tour ends, I ceremoniously give the baby a bottle. The rest are unceremonious.
Thanks for another trip, Bob and company. Thanks to the tapers, the attendees, and the commentERs. Looking forward to Autumn.

Great show last night-- Bob and his wonderful band in good spirits. Had a really good seat and man it's tough to admit but proximity can make a really big difference for Bob's shows because the subtleties of expression and sound quality really bump it up a notch. Intense at times and very rocking and light at other times. Not like his shows of 2014 and 2016 that I saw-- less like the 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' vibe I got at those shows (a cursed man doomed to tell his woeful tale all the world over for the rest of his life). The inclusion of the bluegrass "Summer Days," "Highway 61" (refreshingly shortened), and "Don't Think Twice," plus the fact that he's at the keys a little more this year harken the show back to vibes from even ten years ago in a way IMO.

Anyways, I'm always thankful to get to see these guys play. Thank you!

It's not everyday you see a Samuel Taylor Coleridge reference in these pages...good stuff ! May Captain Bob now cast off the Sinatra-like albatross into the Strait of Juan de Fuca and provide his crew with some original tuneage!

Are we going to continue making live set lists when there eventually is a hologram tour?

If the hologram is not doing the same 20 songs every night, why not?
