i read lots of the posts and really enjoy them but I rarely reply.Ive noticed some posts have hundreds of views but maybe only a few comments.Ive often wished I could like the post, like on facebook so that the author who has taken the time to write it knows its appreciated and that the post was interesting.Any thoughts ?

Just reply! It takes two seconds, and personal communication means so much more than impersonal communication. Even if it's just to say 'thanks for the post'.

I've often wished there was a like button, but I don't think the format allows for it (technically, I mean). Not sure why I think that.

I don't need a like button.
When I feel the need to react to a post, I write a few words. Commenting speaks louder than clicking on a button.
