Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan to lead Outlaw Fest at the Joe

Joe Louis Arena has some more life in it yet.

Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan will lead a July 8 event at the downtown arena, part of the inaugural Outlaw Music Festival Tour, a six-city outing inspired by a Pennsylvania fest of the same name last year.

Joining them on the Joe date will be Jason Isbell, Sheryl Crow and the California band Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and the daylong affair will also feature offerings from Detroit restaurants, breweries and craftsmen.

Tickets are $39.50-$129.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. April 21 via Ticketmaster, the box offices at Joe Louis Arena and the Fox Theatre, and the Hockeytown Authentics shop in Troy.

What are the odds Bob will guest on Sheryl's set for "Soak Up The Sun"?

Odds seem doubtful to nil.

It would be nice if Bob did a nod to Willie by playing a couple of his songs in his set. I suppose a duet would be unthinkable?

Perhaps he might let Willie join him on stage for a song or two.

Enjoy Detroit Alouette!
Milwaukee is still a 50/50 possibility.
It will be down to the last minute again, most likely.

Bob did sing Willie's Sad Songs and Waltzes only 2 years ago (very well too I might add), so there might be a sliver of hope for something unique!

Enjoy Alouette! Detroit can be fun in the Summer!

I hope you get what you wish for and a good time is had by all. As Bob's performance is part of the festival does it mean there will be fewer songs in the set? I wouldn't mind seeing Willie Nelson again if he ever tours the UK again!

Joe Louis is Elvis in all his prophecy, existential American dread and sacrifice to the elevation of his people. who killed Joe Louis.

Set Times for Outlaw Music Festival – Detroit, MI - July 8, 2017
2.15 PM – VIP DOORS
2.30 PM – GA DOORS
3.00 PM – PARTICLE KID
3.30 PM – LUKAS NELSON & PROMISE OF THE REAL
4.30 PM – JASON ISBELL & THE 400 UNIT
5.50 PM – SHERYL CROW
7.20 PM – BOB DYLAN AND HIS BAND
9.05 PM – WILLIE NELSON & FAMILY

Didn't realise that Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real were doing a set until I looked at the Outlaw Music Festival site. Promises to be a great show and I believe Margo price is on tomorrow. She's certainly worth watching - I enjoyed the show I saw in London. Suppose there's no hope that Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real will have a surprise guest in tow? Just wonderin'
