Bob Dylan booked at London’s Budweiser Gardens in July

One of the most iconic musicians of all time is coming to London’s Budweiser Gardens this summer.

Bob Dylan and his band will perform on Thursday, July 6. The news was made public by officials with Budweiser Gardens on Monday, a day after the 55th anniversary of the release of his self-titled debut album.

Dylan was named the winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, in a stunning announcement that for the first time bestowed the prestigious award to someone primarily seen as a musician.

His London show is one of a half dozen tour dates scheduled in Ontario in late June and early July. He plays Kingston June 24, Ottawa June 27, Barrie July 2, Oshawa July 4 and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on July 5.

Dylan has sold over 100 million records since beginning his musical career in the early 1960s, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time.

He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received 11 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, an Academy Award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Nobel Prize for Literature.

If you're thinking about it, Scoper, just do it.
You won't regret it. But you already know that.

Tonight's show started off with a bit lower energy than some of the earlier shows I have seen. This was the third show in three nights. Still good performances, but not as inspired as the other shows in the past week.

The turning point was at the start of Melancholy Mood while Bob was awkwardly waiting to begin singing, a cheer slowly erupted through the audience. After that I thought the performances got better and better, beginning with an excellent Stormy Weather. Desolation Row built to a powerful final verse. The last three songs of the main set with Bob at centre stage were wonderful performances.

Also, Bob was once again hatless...

And that ends the six concerts I've seen. I will admit that I had hoped that a few songs on the setlist would be switched during these shows... but, that's life, and, I suppose, that's Bob... It was still a joy to be in the presence of his brilliance for these shows. Hopefully he will return to this area in the not too distant future.
