Bob Dylan and His Band Map Out Canadian Tour Dates

Bob Dylan delivered a massive three-part album of classic American songs called Triplicate last March, and then he unveiled plans to bring those classic tunes across Canada this summer.

Following a European jaunt and a handful of dates in the United States, Dylan — billed as Bob Dylan and His Band — will head north for a trip through Canada. They'll play Kingston on June 27, followed by dates in Montreal, Barrie, Oshawa, Toronto and London.

From there, he'll keep heading west through Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Calgary, Medicine Hat (cancelled) and Edmonton. Once over the BC border, Dylan and his gang will hit Dawson Creek, Prince George, Kelowna and Vancouver, (before almost bringing his trip to a close in Victoria on July 27, except that last show was cancelled for some reason).

To see the hefty list of North American shows, his complete worldwide itinerary can be viewed at boblinks.com.

Better drive around the block a few times to qualify this one for the 'on the road with bob' category

My first concert on this tour and it was good, some of it really brilliant. Maybe Stu's doodle has been like this on this tour, but in my opinion it's the best doodle ever. The tune sounded familiar but I can't name it. Incredible piano playing by Bob on Don't think twice. Maybe the best version I have heard of that song ever. Dynamite H61. Much better than on any of the 7 concerts I saw on the springtour. I have heard the new arrangement of Summerdays from this tour on the net, now I have seen it live too. It's great, best arrangement of that song ever. Desolation Row was a highlight on all concerts I saw in Europe, but today it was something extra. I have heard Bob doing that song with changing songstyles a lot of times, some times really destroying his masterpiece. Today he also changed his singing in the last 3 verses and he nailed it. Best version I have heard for more than 10 years. Soon after midnight was also better than normal tonight. If it had not been for the boring "Sinatra songs" except That old black magic, this would have been a fantastic concert, but anyway better than the concerts I saw in Europe.

P.S. Early Roman King has never been my favourite but the more bluesy arrangement he gave it today lifts it up.

P.S. 2. Something bad: Someone should tell Bob that standing singing way back on the stage makes him invisible for all the people far on the piano side on the floor because the piano is between them and Bob. It takes a lot away of the "sinatra songs" and the always good Long and Wasted years. COME TO THE FRONT OF THE STAGE BOB!!!!

So we've got to, got to go home
Got to leave this land
Got to find myself somewhere

That sweet, sweet Africa, oh yeah
We got to go home, one day, one day, yeah
We got to go home, say we got to go home, yeah..

Obviously you didn’t catch any of the Fall ’02 shows, that was the ultimate Summer Days era. Those who were fortunate enough to be there know what they witnessed and it’s tough to put it into words. We were lifted off the ground nightly and shown the secrets of the breeze. It wouldn’t last long and we knew that, in the moment, we knew that, and savored it.

This is correct Domino. The Summer Days bar had been set so high that the many Summer Days afterwards couldn't compare.
Feel blessed to have enjoyed so many of those bone-shaking excursions into the Summer Day jam land. Unleashed!

Fast forward to NOW, 15 years or so later, and realize yet another vein of Gold has been struck. One that stands alone.
A completely 'nuther take to reinvigorate the soul. Refreshing!

Have fun everyone!!!

I saw 11 concerts in 2002. One in Norway, one in Sweden, 3 in England and six in US. Except for the last two ones he played Summerdays on all of them. Really good versions all of them, but yesterday's version was better I believe. I will check out the recordings from 2002 when I get home 11 days from now.

Wow, I admit I haven’t seen this tour in person but after listening to the current version I can’t fathom how anyone could even halfway compare it to the Fall ’02 version. But I know that witnessing it live is a completely different experience than hearing the tapes.

For me those ’02 Summer Days were spiritual experiences, today’s Summer Days seems to be a fun dance tune but nothing earth shattering.
