18th show in town. Probably 3 songs from the first setlist 33 years ago: Highway 61, Ballad Of A Thin Man, Blowin' In The Wind.

I remember that one well, I hitch-hiked 300 miles up north to see Dylan with his straw hat perform in a huge football stadium, it was my second Bob date

It was my first, but Joan Baez for the second time...
I have been to all Hamburg-Shows except when he was Neil Youngs Special Guest on Trabrennbahn.

Trabrennbahn July 1996, I was there, but the only other Hamburg shows after that for me were the two identical in October 2013. Here are two videos I filmed during the first one of these two in 2013.

anytime you want you can cross the state line 191013

very good – but waiting in Hamburg does not seem to make him happy. My only souvenir is a bad few-minutes recording on mini-disc from Alsterdorfer Sporthalle 2000. For me it was like a shard of an antique vase in that time.

Last time he played this venue (it was called O2 World at the time):

O2 World
Hamburg, Germany
31 October 2011

1. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat
2. Boots Of Spanish Leather
3. Things Have Changed
4. Man In The Long Black Coat
5. The Levee's Gonna Break
6. Not Dark Yet
7. Rollin' And Tumblin'
8. A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall
9. Highway 61 Revisited
10. Forgetful Heart (Bob Dylan-Robert Hunter/Bob Dylan)
11. Thunder On The Mountain
12. Ballad Of A Thin Man
13. All Along The Watchtower
14. Like A Rolling Stone

I saw Bob on this tour a few weeks later in London. The Mark Knopfler part dragged.

I reserve the right to thoroughly not enjoy a show I paid a lot of money for.

PS: The newest what? It's still the same old same old...

Looking forward to seeing you anyway.

Great showing from ER for this gig. Have a great time everyone!

This seems to be the second most popular destination this time around, right after Liverpool.

Enjoy the show, everyone! 8)

Any information on how many tickets/seats were sold in this place? 16.000 capacity is probably true only for GA shows? But still, this could be the biggest indoor show in Germany Bob played in a while...

It is said to be 13,000 for sporting events, so probably 11,000 with seats on the floor and the sections behind the stage closed off. That's if they sold all sections. Without the "Oberrang" it's 8,000.
I believe Festhalle Frankfurt has a capacity of just under 10,000 in the configuation used, so it would be a close second.

I remember there was one show at the Arena Oberhausen that was pretty crowded (2002?), but other than that I don't think Bob has played to 10,000 people or more indoors in Germany since... 1981?
(Not counting the Knopfler shows, because Knopfler was the main draw in many ways)

Bob has played big indoor venues in Germany before - most notably in 1987 - but failed to sell nearly as may tickets as this time around.

I don't think they opened any of the upper sectors at all, since they didn't even manage to sell all seats in the lower ones. Earlier today, they were still releasing new seats.

There will almost certainly be more people there than in the last few years, but this show is definitely not sold out.

no live Bob enjoyment for me tonight, I will have to wait until the second Palladium gig, and then the show in Dublin

but regarding tonight, I would not be surprised if Bob pulls out another "Standing In The Doorway" in Hamburg, having performed it twice before in that city (Sept 2000 and April 2002, two out of 15 appearances of this gem in Europe)
