I was only sarcastic when I posted that each CD will be 25 minutes long ... I have no idea I was a li'l upset that's all. Anyway I do not think that it will be a 75 minutes CDs ...

And, I think there will be a Lanois release this fall.

I have no idea what their plans are, but I'd be surprised if that happened. To me, it'd make a lot more (financial) sense to release a new Bootleg Series volume in the fall and leave the alleged new album for next year. Given that the Bootleg Series are more expensive releases (at least the Deluxe and Collectors editions), Sony will want to put them out closer to the holidays season. A new album of originals will sell just as well in the spring.

Bob's album covers continue their downward trend since TTL - I'm convinced more than ever that Bob is making these covers himself on his MacBook --- or he's using a basement bargain shop, the same one that does relaxation CD covers that you can only buy at WalMart.

I would have preferred a triple live NET release myself but this is what we'll get. I'll have to wait until its out before I decide whether to purchase it. I'm not convinced yet that it is something I "need".

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love the Sinatra stuff, but at this point, he's just dumping everything he's recorded. This is hilarious. Bootleg Series Volume 13 anyone?!

You know, I like Shadows and Fallen Angels, but when I listen to Dylan, I exclude them.
For instance, if I want to shuffle Dylan on iTunes, I deliberately leave those two out (also leave out Christmas in the Heart, for obvious reasons).
So I'm trying to look at it this way: I will now have a separate 5-album set that I can group together and shuffle for when I'm in that mood.

I mean, it could happen...

The albums seem to be continuing their upward trend
& the album covers suitable

Bob's on a roll. $23 for 30 tunes. He'd have to hit something solid to be put on another course.

I like these songs. They're beautiful. He puts together really nice arrangements and sings them nicely. I'm fine to have these for a long plane ride.

OK Bob, you've got all that out of your system! I will of course buy it but the melancholy mood doesn't come upon me often enough to listen to it regularly. I do love these immaculately frightful songs though, I promise.

Now can we please have a shake-up in the setlist with some of this stuff but at least 2-thirds of your own songs? I await your pleasure, see you in May.

Oh and an album of new refreshing material with Lanois would be nice too.

See you in Cardiff, Nottingham and Glasgow.

That's a good idea, I would find them ideal as I hate flying. Last flight I was on had Dylan on the inflight entertainment menu. What a blessing.

Triple-Snoozefest... I just can't stand the cheesy sound of this slide guitar he uses in every arrangement, ruined both albums for me.

Doesn't "triplicate" literally mean "three times the same"?

A travesty. I got FA for nothing on Amazon Prime, and I'm not sure I'll even bother to download this one should it become available.

My poor European friends --- the upcoming Triplicate tour.

Got to hand it to him, he always manages to surprise, first by dropping this album and let's hope also by not playing anything from it in the Spring shows. This material might have some charm at home but we need a bit more attitude live Bob!

That's very interesting. You could fit 75 minutes onto one CD if you wanted, so Bob's obviously making some sort of statement with the title and number of discs. What that statement is, I don't know/care.

It was just pointed out to me that Sinatra once made an album that was split into 3 separately-titled records:

Maybe he tried to steal the tunes and rewrite the lyrics a la the 21st century postmodern stuff and decided the original lyrics were better anyway.

Could be like Tom Waits' Orphans album in that vein (which even included Young at Heart!)

Love the optimism but sadly I doubt it will be anywhere near as interesting as Orphans!
