Fantastic! See you all in Glasgow in May!

Will Isis be doing their usual presale? Glasgow seems to be the only non-GA show and I can't really be bothered with the usual rush when the tickets go on sale?

Yes, they will. Bournemouth might be GA, too.
Well then, I suppose continental Europe in April, incl. the Nobel 'speech'...

Yes Glasgow for me too!

I've obtained tickets through ISIS in the past, but I can't remember, do you need to be a subscriber to the magazine to take part in their pre-sale? I've (sadly) allowed my subscription to lapse.

I was under the impression that they were willing to make an exception if you asked really nicely. If anyone from Isis is reading this and wishes to correct me, then I'd like to say how highly I value your publication and regular email updates and plan to take out a subscription very very soon, when I cease to become, as Thickboy would put it, 'a lazy feckless student'.

After the RAH I'm not overwhelmed by the dates or venues. Not much can be done about dates, but a return to arenas is disappointing.

Yep, back to areas. What a pity. Prob means The Set is over.

I'll be heading the Liverpool date, surprise surprise! :)

Hope he debuts 'Things we said today'.

What's this ISIS pre-sale deal? Is it just for subscribers?

Great news that our Bob is coming back to these shores, but a bit disappointed about the venues...

I really don't fancy seeing him in an arena. What're the possibilities of more dates being announced (with hopefully different venues)?

Nope, he still has to do something himself, Patti or not.

Quote:
A message from Patti Smith...

In September while attending the opening of my photographic exhibition at the Stockholm House of Culture, I was approached by a member of the Nobel Committee to sing at the ceremony.

At that time the laureates were not announced and I had planned to perform one of my own songs with the orchestra. But after Bob Dylan was announced as the winner and he accepted, it seemed appropriate to set my own song aside and choose one of his.

I chose A Hard Rain because it is one of his most beautiful songs. It combines his Rimbaudian mastery of language with a deep understanding of the causes of suffering and ultimately human resilience.

I have been following him since I was a teenager, half a century to be exact. His influence has been broad and I owe him a great debt for that.

I had not anticipated singing a Bob Dylan song on December 10, but I am very proud to be doing so and will approach the task with a sense of gratitude for having him as our distant, but present, cultural shepherd.

14 from my last 15 (Cardiff the exception) have been in smaller venues (Blackpool, RAH, Manchester and Southampton) and I'm really not sure I want to do so much travelling yet again for another arena tour ... is it just me?

Is the Glasgow one in the large concert hall or the smaller one he played last time?

Same venue he played in 2013, which is the smaller, seated venue.

Thanks so much. I enjoyed that smaller venue more than the larger one. That's one show for me then.
