If so, we've not seen that particular gate before - though the Dylan photos and even the Dylan quote have been used for Mood Swings before.

This is great news. I've been wanting to see his gate work in person for quite a while, and this will make the perfect side trip for when I visit family in the DC area for the holidays.

There are photos of him in overalls in front of a similar, albeit smaller scale gate in 1991. And who could forget his chainsaw carving in that Dennis Hopper film from 1989 or 1990. Can't remember the name, it had two

Catchfire aka Backtrack, from 1990. It's starring Jodie Foster. Here's a clip of Bob and the chainsaw I found on youtube.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of this gate once it is unveiled.

The next natural move for him would be to combine his religiosity with the ironwork hobby and start making objects for the church.

And ER could help him out with that - there's a few massive bellends hanging around here he could use.

Bob belongs to a per-consumerist generation where old or used stuff was not discarded, but put to good use again.

As for the question if there is anything he can't do: sure, he can't act.

We call it upcycling these days.

Btw: Why in heck do people not use the Poet & Painter subforum for the visual artwork, if we have one? There's news in there about a new exhibition of paintings too...

Here's the cameo, from Catchfire, which was re cut for television by Hopper and called Backtrack.
I think it's safe to say that Dylan's acting here is as good as it is in Hearts Of Fire, or that episode of Dharma and Greg.

The only person he can be is himself, who ever that is.

I remember reading that he gave a gate to Paul Simon. This was probably payback for stealing the refrain of Scarborough Fair for one of his songs - what was it? Girl from the North country?

I think it's a traditional song

Yes, but Dylan liked to take other people's arrangements, as he also did with Van Ronk's House Of The Rising Sun.

When exactly, I'd like to know, is Bob's enormous erection to be unveiled in Maryland?

It's recycled from the time of the Mood Swings exhibition.
