Take a deep breath, feel like you're chokin...

All the best for a full and fast recovery. Breathing is important. Developing pneumonia is what inspired me to quit smoking. Take good care of yourself.

K.E. is the coolest cat west of the Jordan and east of the rock of Gibraltar, and he doesn't just get sick like some of you squares, he gets a rockin' pneumonia and the boogie-woogie flu.

Seriously, K-man, ease back on the throttle for 2016, and just chill.

Dear Sir.

Pneumonia is serious business. Do not rush your recovery. You are well when you are well, and not sooner, and not to be determined by the calendar.

End of sermon.

Best wishes for your recovery.

Get Well Soon Karl Erik

Your morning ritual is part of my morning ritual, since the age of 15 I've been checking this website each morning, so that's 17 nearly 18 years.

ER is a great service to us all, so thank you.

Look after those lungs big boy - don't do like I do!

And get better in your own time - but soon!

Love across the sea.

A quick stroll through the archives shows that Karl Erik started this site back in 1995.

From 1995 to 2003, he mostly updated the site daily, with a few lapses for the occasional server problem, trips out of the country, etc.

Sometime in early 2004, Karl Erik produced a new front page every single day and has continued all the way through today!
[confession: I scrolled quickly, so it's possible there might be a gap here or there -- seems I recall some server problems back in 2008, maybe?]

Hardly a day goes by on this site without someone noting Dylan's amazing, Never Ending Tour -- well, it's time to give Karl Erik his credit, too. A loose estimate has his streak at well over 4000 days!

Thank you, sir. We all owe you so much more than just our donations.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Oh my goodness, this site's gone through some tough losses recently, so I'm glad to hear that in spite of his bout of pneumonia, Karl Erik is pulling through. Like everyone else, I'm sure I don't express often enough how meaningful this site has been to me over the past decade or so, and a fair amount of that is down to the master himself, Mr. Erik. I'll be praying for a swift recovery, and many more years of enabling our particular kind of madness.

Was there really a bout of pneumonia? One theory is that Karl Erik has faked the whole thing to get out of a whole bunch of obligations!
